  • Over two years and not a single problem - 2003 Toyota Sequoia

We switched to Sequoia from a 4Runner. I dont want to bore you with the initial decision making and comparisons I made. We have had this SUV for two years now. Have taken it to all nasty road conditions. The car drives as if it is on rails. The has a much more dynamic feel than the 4Runner (ironic isnt it/). More importantly, this SUV has never had to go back to dealer . Not even for an adjustment. I cant say the same for our European cars. I really recommend this SUV.

  • I Love My Sequoia! - 2003 Toyota Sequoia

When the Sequoia was first introduced, I wanted to have a closer look. I admired the 8-seat feature--thats a plus. It is so roomy in the rear; my children love it.

With my Sequoia, Im impressed how Toyota was able to combine luxury, design, comfort, size and performance at a price below $45,000. At 17 mpg rating,(although Im only getting 16), Im glad that it uses only 87 octane gasoline.

We have owned Toyotas or Lexus for many years. We have a tacoma, 4Runner, Sienna, and now a 2003 Sequoia. I LOVE this vehicle. It handles great for such a large machine. Steering is tight and easy, breaks work smoothly, the interior design is excellent. No complaints! JBL sound system rocks! Smooth over bumpy roads.

Got my Sequoia before the Oct fee hike. The car runs like a sedan instead of a full size SUV. Accelerator responds smoothly and the brakes are fantastic. Kids loved the DVD player and all the room in the car.

  • Its Okay - 2003 Toyota Sequoia

Its okay, my wife loves it and it is her car. To date no major problems with it, weve only had it for a year. There are a few things that dont work the way I expect them after driving domestic vehicles all my life but I cant say theyre done wrong. One nice thing is it gets pretty good mileage for a large SUV. Over all the vehicle has no personality. But so far it has been reliable and the wife likes it.

  • Looks and runs great but its a rust time bomb! - 2003 Toyota Sequoia
    By -

I purchased this older vehicle to replace my money pit 96 Suburban and considered getting rid of my car as well. While replacing the exhaust I found that the frame was rotted out in the back behind where the tail pipe muffler was located. This discouraged me greatly as I had heard these vehicles had this issue - but mostly the tundras were affected from what Ive read even though its the same frame. On the outside you would never know and even looking underneath you wouldnt see it because the exhaust system is hiding it from plain view. I contacted Toyota and they opened a case only to tell me that this vehicle was already serviced for this reason in February 2013 for the frame issue where they removed surface rust and treated it. It appears that the frame is rusting from the inside I think that they didnt treat the passenger rear corner because of the exhaust would be in the way. I thought I had purchased a dependable vehicle only to find out that its a pile of scrap now. It still drives great but I purchased it to tow which I will not do now - I hope to get rid of it before this rust time bomb explodes.
