  • I dont know... - 2006 Toyota RAV4

After a long hard decision making, I picked the RAV4 believing that Ill get good gas mileage as advertised and overall good quality, hey its a toyota. After a month of using it mostly on highways the most I got was 19 mpg. The suspension is very disappointing, very stiff, the clock placement, the kick you feel as you shift from reverse to drive, engine noise, tire noise, idle noise, the small knobs for the stereo are all negative factors. Ill just finish the lease and say bye-bye.

I also own a 2006 BMW 325i, and I have to say that the new RAV4 V-6 is every bit as much fun to drive! The 269 hp engine delivers phenomenal torque, extending a challenge to my 325i for a race! Thumping the gas pedal is exhilarating and I cant recommend doing so highly enough! I leased this vehicle but will likely buy it at the end of the lease and just get leather seats installed. Itll be like a new vehicle and will probably only have about 30,000 miles by that time. And since its a Toyota, I figure Ill get another 270,000 miles out of it! If you havent driven the V-6 yet, get out there and run one! Youll love it!

  • Could Be Better - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Ride is too rough and bumpy/ Highway noise very loud on most pavements..have to raise volume on radio/ Paint job inadequate...peels off very easily especially around bumper and fenders/ Gas mileage: 16mpg all city driving... alot of stop and go and between 24 and 27 on highway at 65 to 70mph/ Problems with steering column (Replaced)/ Hard to handle when passing another vehicle on highway...wants to go out of control/ I am just waiting to build some equity on this vehicle to buy something else.

  • Love My New RAV4 - 2006 Toyota RAV4

I am absolutely in love with the Rav4. There is no question this is the best SUV I have ever driven. It looks as good as it drives and I love the space inside. The color is beautiful (nautical blue) and I love the interior. I only have a 2 wheel drive and a 4 cylinder, but it has enough get up and go for me. Talk about great gas mileage. I went from a gas guzzler and now to this. I am in heaven. I think that I will have this car for a long time to come. No doubt it will be one of my favorite toys.

I love it and really enjoy the driving. Great turning radius. Toyota is meant for Quality.

  • Poor design - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Ive now owned three Ravs and every one has developed a creeky noise in the windshield and this one has a leak at the top of the windshield. The rear compartment has a light in the door which points away from the interior when it is opened. The compartment is dark. The rear door opens sideways which offers no cover from the elements and rear visibility is poor. The ABS works poorly on ice and snow. It pumped my foot off the brake pedal. The all wheel drive doesnt work well to get me out of my driveway. No way would I buy another. The dealer has been very helpful and pleasant to work with. But they havent been able to fix the windshield problems. Think I may switch to Subaru.

  • Safest Car Ive Ever Seen - 2006 Toyota RAV4

Overall performance was great, but the car really pulled its weight during a recent accident. My 17-year-old flipped the car three times going about 70 mph and landed on the drivers side in a ditch. The car was totaled, but thanks to seatbelts and side airbags, she walked away with barely a scratch. I would recommend this car to anyone.

I bought my Rav 4 Limited 4x4 in September, I have put nealry 4,000 miles on it already. I love it.

  • Owning the RAV4 - 2006 Toyota RAV4

I own the Limited 2wd version and am extremely happy with the vehicle. Mileage on first tank of gas was 28 mpg (half city & half highway miles). Acceleration and performance are suberb - drives like a 6 cylinder. Smooth handling and terrific turning radius make this vehicle a real pleasure to drive. Satellite radio is awesome and the JBL sound system is excellent. Road noise is almost non- existent (I bought the Toyoguard that most dealers in the Southeast put on their cars - includes soundproofing which works quite well). The cargo capacity is excellent - much better access and capacity than my 98 Pathfinder. I looked at RX 330s, and for the money the RAV4 is much better value.

  • Excellent SUV - 2006 Toyota RAV4

This is my first SUV and Im very happy with it. The V6 has more power than you will need, but I thought the 4 cylinder was underpowered. Very smooth transmission. There is plenty of room in the back and I like the levers that allow you to drop the rear seats from the cargo area. Doesnt feel "big" while driving and is very easy to park. Gas mileage with a V6 of this power is exceptional! Well worth the money.
