  • Favorite car traded in an Acura for it! - 2006 Toyota Prius

The mileage we have put on this car is higher than we realized so fast due to the fact thay the gas mileage is so incredibly great that we always drive this car. We have two other cars they are fuel efficient and still cant compete with the fun driving experience of this car. Equipped with navigation system and smart key/keyless entry, this is the car of the future no need for a key and wont break the bank! We even installed our mp3, ipod, etc. We spend so much time in this car compared to the others we own.

I was concerned about the small size and comfort when I bought my Prius. I was surprised to find it is neither small or uncomfortable. It is listed as mid-sized. My 66" 270lb son is comfortable in the back seat. The drivers seat will not move back far enough for his comfort, but he can drive it. We did not change our driving habits to accommodate mileage, but average 49.3 mpg. This has been for the last 8000 mi. I have only one complaint, at freeway speeds there is much air and road noise. I am very pleased with the comfort and performance. I eagerly await the plug-in model. I will get one at my first opportunity.

Coolest car on the road! I got the white with tan leather, package #8. Traded my Lexus LS 430 for it and have no regrets, only praise and Ill be dumping 2 and a half tons less CO2 per year.

  • A Great Transportation Appliance - 2006 Toyota Prius

Purchased in June, the car now has more than 10,000 miles while averaging 48 MPG with 95% freeway driving. It is clear that Toyota spent most of their money on the technology platform and it all functions pretty seemlessly. This car offers great economy with few compromises. Wonderfully reliable, the car has yet to be back to the dealer. After the previous seven years driving a Volvo S80 T6 that couldnt stay out of a dealership for two consecutive weeks, reliability is a real treat.

I bought this Prius to replace my 2002 Prius, which was a great car. The new 2006 Prius handles well on the road and is very comfortable to ride in. The computer readout is very helpful in optimizing mpg. The new, more stylish design, emphasizes the high tech capabilities of the car, but even with careful driving, I have not been able to match the 54 mpg I was getting on the old Prius. The new one is getting about 49-50 mpg. The navigation system in better than in the older model.

Ordered the Prius in September of 2005 and received on 01/23/06. Gas mileage is excellent at 44 MPG for all 9800 miles that Ive put on it so far. Car has suprisingly good pickup and is very solidly built. This vehicle replaced a Tahoe which I was using for business. Fit and trim are excellent. Wish true American car companies could build a car that gets this type of mileage. Also love the keyless aspect with automatic unlocking of drivers door with out having to funble for keys.

  • Its great but.... - 2006 Toyota Prius

Of course the mileage is not the 60mph advertised- more like 42mph. The rear window is very difficult to see out of- must always use side mirrors. And the phone charger is so far from the drivers side I cant use the phone and charge it at the same time. Otherwise, its all its cracked up to be...

  • I love this car - 2006 Toyota Prius

This is a great car and good for the environment. Lots of cargo space with the back seats folded down. Quiet and comfortable. I love it. Getting around 50 mpg around town and 47 on the highway.

This is the most fun Ive ever had driving. The technology is fantastic. The car has a quiet smooth ride and is very roomy. It looks like a small car from the outside, but a midsize on the inside. Very pleased so far.

Was surprised at how well it handled and how much room there was inside. It had more power and pickup than I expected. And all my passengers are amazed at the space and comfort of the interior.
