The Corolla is a great car to commute. Thats it! it is not a fun car to drive, it is just ok. If youre looking for fun (performance and handling), look somewhere else. Its a great, grandma car!

I traded a 02 Chevy pickup for this 06 Corolla. We leased it for 0% and then bought it after 36 months for $8900.00. We have 58000 miles on it and it has never failed even at 30 below zero. Some things I thought they (Toyota) would change with the 2010, more interior lights, lighted ignition, better radio. We drive 30 plus miles ever day 7 days a week. We love 30 plus miles per gallon, good ride, nice room inside, good heater. We have had not one thing go wrong, just put gas and oil in it. Toyota Quality!!

I bought it used a few years ago with 50,000 or so miles on it. I now have around 105,000 miles. So far it has been pretty reliable. We have not had any major problems so far. The engine still runs well, the transmission shifts smoothly in all temps and weather conditions. The audio system isnt great, but acceptable. The interior has a decent amount of space for a small car, and the trunk is pretty big. Road noise is average, but I always have music playing. Heat and A/C still work great. It has a very awkward steering wheel position and the handling is not very good. The gas is very touchy.

Lot of power, good acceleration. Easy and fun to drive. 25 to 27 mpg around town, 36 to 38 on the highway. Did get over 41 mpg once.

  • My 9 Year Old Wants It When She Turns 16 - 2006 Toyota Corolla

After 3 months and 6k miles, my Corolla is exactly as promised. Whether I drive 65 or 85, A/C on or off, the car gets 37-40 mpg. There is plenty of room for 4 adults, and all of their luggage. The ride is pretty good (all highway miles), the handling is very good, and the shifters throw is short, enabling quick shifts, thus enabling the revs to stay high. The car really springs to life above 4000 rpms. Have second thoughts about getting navy blue - it looks great when clean, but the slightest rain will turn it into a mess.

Finally broke down and got a new car last year. Its riddled with rattles, loud and not too comfy on long trips. Great gas mileage!! Good power, even in the mountains. Wont be looking at Toyotas again.

  • Lovin it! - 2006 Toyota Corolla

My first Toyota and I love it! From what I hear about Corollas it will probably be my last for at least 200,000 miles. And you can bet your bippy that Ill get another after that! Superb gas mileage, comfy seating (Im 5 tall and its hard to find a luxury- like car that fits me) drives fun, quiet + smooth. This might sound strange, but I live in the boondocks and have never been able to get in many radio stations with my other vehicles, The Corollas antenna rocks! Not that I use it much now that I have a 6 disk Cd changer! Wish the volume went up more though.

  • Oh my aching back! - 2006 Toyota Corolla

The Corolla is like a Timex watch, very reliable. I never worry about it breaking down. I bought this car new and I have only had to do scheduled maintenance. Great gas mileage, 30+. Now for the bad news, very uncomfortable seats, steering wheel does not telescopic, air conditioning hardly blows out at all when in head/foot postion. Defroster takes forever to unfog windshield. I drive an hour each way to work, and my back kills me. The arm rest might as well not exist, it is of no use except for storage. I am presently looking for a "comfortable" car. Why does inexpensive have to hurt so much? Windshield cracks if anything hits it however small.

  • Bought on Reputation alone - 2006 Toyota Corolla

Before I went car shopping, I did extensive research on several Makes and Models. Its a lot of money to spend impulsively after all. I decided on Toyota after test driving a Ford Fiesta, Honda Accord, even a MINI Cooper. I found a 2006 Corolla with only 47,500 miles and bought it, based on reputation of reliability/dependability and Toyota earned it. It was a bit pricey, but holds value very well. Decent acceleration for a 1.8Liter, and economy is superb, especially with my driving habits. I enjoy seeing how much I can squeeze out of a tank, and have gotten as much a 44mpg. yes, 44..but I did have a strong tail-wind and no grade for nearly 100 miles on a lonely S. Calif desert road.

  • Ill keep buying them. - 2006 Toyota Corolla

My last Corolla was a 1991 which I kept for 12 years. I tried a RAV4 but it had too many minor problems, so I traded it in for this car, used at 9000 miles. I find it has less power than my 1991 had (even at its advanced age) but that might be due this one being automatic. It is extremely comfortable to drive and really looks sporty. Ive found my forever car... my next will be a Corolla - in another 10 years!
