  • Disappointment - 2006 Toyota Corolla

My new manual Corolla has terrible fuel economy, 33mpg in the best case on hwy. Dealers service dept. claims "it is what is" and can not be improved.

  • Doesnt get advertised gas mileage - 2006 Toyota Corolla

  • Solid car for the typical commuter - 2006 Toyota Corolla

The Corolla feels solid and well built. The drivers seat is comfortable but due to the design of the dash pod?- can feel like you are stretching your arms a bit for the wheel even when the seat is moved forward; not too bad though. Ive gotten between 39mpg all highway and 26mpg heavy city driving (were talking 3 miles of parking lot Boston traffic here) and the car is not broken in yet. Ive noticed: steering has good feel, gas pedal is a bit high for me but cruise on trips helps that, powerful ac and heat, decent sized trunk, area under door handles does seem to get scratched easily, good turning radius but low hood makes it a little tricky to park, decent torque, quiet ride.

This Corolla was a replacement for 2004 Civic which I felt was underpowered and delicate. Purchased pre owned with 75k three years ago, now have approximately 94k.

  • Great car, Great Value! - 2006 Toyota Corolla

I have owned my Corolla S 5 speed for one week and have put 1000 miles on it. This car is great! Great fuel economy, good performance and very comfortable to drive. The car has an awesome suspension and drives great on the highway as well as on the back roads. I am 26 and used to think that Toyotas were boring... now I think the value and reliability of the Corolla are paramount.

The perfect blend of performance and fuel economy. Enough power to handle on-ramps on highways, while not breaking your budget. I bought it 6-8 months ago, and have not had any problems since. It is an economy car, so do not expect it to have perfect interior quality or to keep up with sports cars.

The gas mileage I get is 35 mpg. This is excellent. Ive always been a fan of Toyota reliability. I am still satisfied with the Corolla.

  • Good but not great - 2006 Toyota Corolla
    By -

Bought new with optional cruise control, side airbags and sunroof. Extra cost somewhat high. Have to hold on tight to steering wheel on windy days. So far dealership has replaced squeaky belt and engine computer chip-after check engine light went on, luckily still under warranty. Paint chips easily.

  • Easy car to drive - 2006 Toyota Corolla

Relatively easy car to manuever in city, good gas mileage, economical to operate, just a good all around car for the money.
