This Year's Model Updates:

The 2003 Toyota Celica has been revised with freshened front and rear styling. In front, the Celica gets a new bumper and fascia with a wider upper air intake. Newly available high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights complement the car's advanced styling, and redesigned rear lights echo the projector-style look. Inside, Toyota has redesigned the center dash cluster for improved legibility and added a standard JBL audio system to the GT-S model. A power antenna is now standard on JBL-equipped models. Finally, you can get two new colors: Solar Yellow and Zephyr Blue Metallic.

Pros:
  • Radical styling, rev-happy GT-S engine, outstanding steering/braking/handling.

  • Looks fast, Drives slow - 2003 Toyota Celica

This car is really pathetic when it comes to 0-60 speed. It is so slow off the line if feels like you might be in reverse. A 4 cyl just doesnt cut it and while it does pick up after you hit 15mph or so, it is embarrasing because the 96 Geo Metro that was next to you at the light is already down the street hanging a left. Throw a V-6 in this and another 50 horsepower and Toyota might be on to something. For now, save your money for a 300ZX or the new Mazada RX-8 and get a real car.

  • "Auto. Celica is a DOG!!", Toyota Rep - 2003 Toyota Celica
    By -

After explaining problems to Toyota Rep, he said "Celica GTS with an Automatic trans is a "dog". It performs exactly like you described, theres nothing mechanically wrong with the car." He said "You signed for the car, you own it." I was flabbergasted. I asked if Toyota planned to continue to manufacture this car he said yes. You cant rely on any power when accelerating from a stop. I floor the gas pedal at a stop, I get no acceleration. DO NOT BUY THIS DOG!!

  • GT-S Performance is horrible - 2003 Toyota Celica

DO NOT BUY THE GT-S AUTOMATIC! This cars performance is horrible. Its acceleration is nil from a stop. It is ok after you get in second gear.

  • Cool.... - 2003 Toyota Celica

I initially fell in love with this car for its looks. And now that I have driven it, the love has just increased. The beauty isnt just skin deep :) I love the way this car handles and especially corners. The sound of the screaming engine when the car redlines at abt 8300 is also very pleasing. The best part is that you snugly fit into your seet and it feels like the car is growing out of you and is a part of you. Everyting is within easy reach. However, I the sunroof is already squeaking, the exterior door handles buzz with the bass from the music system and something is rattling near the muffler. I am a little disappointed at the famed Toyota build quality.

this cars packs a hugh punch. I love driving a sporty vehicle. The excitement of it all is rarely over whelming. My wife drives it more than me now. I keep getting stuck with the small SUV that we purchased a yer ago and I think Im about to trade it in and buy another Celica. This time, in black!

  • I love this car! - 2003 Toyota Celica

I had an accident the day I left the dealer ship. My vehicle... after pulling of the lot was totaled and I still retained 91% of its market value. Needless to say after my insurance paid off the car which was totaled, I purchase a new 2003 model just yesterday. vooooommmmmmmmmm......

  • Great Car - 2003 Toyota Celica

This is what I have to say about these certain Topics: Fuel Economy: Excellent for a car of this style. A sport car style with great mileage. People will appreciate this car when gas prices shoot up. I get 33 mpg (mix highway/city). GTS model required premium gas. Performance: Under powered but thats alright, but that is the trade off for good mileage. GT model gets 140hp while the GTS gets 180hp. Either model is fun to drive. If you think 140hp GT sucks compared to the GTSs 180hp, keep in mind that the 2013 VW golf hybrid turbo makes 170hp.. GT or GTS is equally a great buy. But if you like the sound of "Lift" (similar sound to VTEC) get the GTS.

  • What a kick! - 2003 Toyota Celica

I was looking for a mid-life crisis car. looked at Mustangs but didnt trust Ford. Looked at Miatas and almost wnet that way. also checked out Eclipse. Toyota quality (Ive owned three) and the zip and pep of the Celica sold me. Fun and has some practicality as well.
