This Year's Model Updates:

The 2003 Toyota Celica has been revised with freshened front and rear styling. In front, the Celica gets a new bumper and fascia with a wider upper air intake. Newly available high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights complement the car's advanced styling, and redesigned rear lights echo the projector-style look. Inside, Toyota has redesigned the center dash cluster for improved legibility and added a standard JBL audio system to the GT-S model. A power antenna is now standard on JBL-equipped models. Finally, you can get two new colors: Solar Yellow and Zephyr Blue Metallic.

Pros:
  • Radical styling, rev-happy GT-S engine, outstanding steering/braking/handling.

Ok, i went to the auto show and looked at the celica. i fell in love from across the room! i want the car so bad and im trying to get my dad to buy it. reviews are good and all that stuff--so so far so good. The last thing that would help me to buy it is some kind of a discount or offer...

I got this car durning the spring break of 04. From the moment I sat down in it, I knew this was the car for me. Simpliy put the looks are amazing. The redesign of the tail lights is great. They look like the redded out verisons people have been buying. I have found that the power to be lacking alittle, but the way it handles turns you soon forget about that. I love this car and wouldnt trade it for anything else right now. Now stop reading this and go drive one. Not just a chicks car. A drivers car.

  • Not enough low end torque - 2003 Toyota Celica

This car takes to long to get going. When you punch the gas pedal, nothing happens until about 5 seconds later (when you are at 7000 rpm). I know that is sort of the point, and it does corner great and can accelerate through turns great, but I still feel that it makes the car feel underpowered and sluggish off the line. At least a 6cyl Grand Am can bark the tires when you floor it. Apparently a manual transmission in this car is a must since you probably have to rev it up to about 7,000 rpm and drop the clutch to have a good start off the line. Im just disappointed because I wanted something sporty, but this car just doesnt have any real oomph.

This is my second car, my first was a Chrysler, nice but not too much fun. My Celica is awesome! Toyota has been very helpful, I have been in contact with Toyota USA France and Japan and they are all more than willing to help. I havent had any problems with it except a bus running into it but it just got some scratches which came out quite easially. This car is perfect! Well, one morning it was really cold and wouldnt start very easily but that was the only problem Ive ever had. I highly recomend it!

  • 2003 Celica GT - 11 Month Review - 2003 Toyota Celica

Ive had my 03 Celica GT for 11 months and I love it. Its a $20k car and not a $40k car..and for that $20 its sporty looking, fun to drive and very economical. There is a rattle in the sunroof, but I havent been able to leave it for a whole day at the dealership, so I just turn the stereo up. Im comfortable in the cabin (but long road trips are not recommended!). I especially like the hatchback feature. I use my car almost as a truck, but I prefer to drive a sporty car, so the Celica fits my needs perfectly. Overall Im very satisfied for a $20k car.

  • Its all good - 2003 Toyota Celica

Toyota makes a great any type of a car. The car is fun to drive. It will last 200,000 miles no problem. I have a 96 Celica it is a work horse. The only problem that it burns oil, it has 145,000 miles on it & my Toyota mechanic says it will keep going and going. Guess thats why they made the newer Celicas 6 speeds because of high engine rev ups.

  • All Around Fun Car - 2003 Toyota Celica

Pros: Wonderful Handeling, tight steering, excellent response, on-a-dime breaks, good arrangment of instruments, beautiful inside and out. Good gas economy-Toyota quality and service. Cons: Seat size. You must be a small to medium sized adult to fit comfortably in the front seat, and child-sized to fit in the back. Huge blind spot, spoiler doesnt help. Trunk is difficult to close. Needs more HP to be a true racing car. Low torque. Lowness to ground can make hard to get in and out of. Really a car for the young. I have been absolutley satisfied with this car...its amazing to feel the acceleration and precision of the response on the highway...

  • Great Purchase - 2003 Toyota Celica

Bought mine new in late 2003. Have not been sorry except for when I have people or luggage to haul, and even the luggage can be worked around. This car gets great gas mileage and I have never gotten more compliments on a vehicle than this. I always have people telling me how "cool" my car is and it is now approaching 5 years old. The only thing, other than a little more backseat space that I would like is a few more "electronic" features loike sterring wheel stereo controls, etc, but for the money, it is a great car and who cares about the stereo when you cant drive the car because of mechanical issues? Reliable and a lifesaver right now because of gas prices, I STILL love my Celica.
