Overview & Reviews
The XL-7 receives minor updates to the exterior and equipment list. The Touring and Limited models have been renamed EX III and LX III. The front grille and bumper have been reworked, and the foglights, taillights and headlights all have a new look. The front-passenger airbags are now multistage, and there's a new panic button on the keyless remote. Lastly, the V6 engine gets two additional horsepower for a total of 185, and the automatic transmission is now a five-speed unit.
- Affordable base price, competent on- and off-road handling, available seven-passenger seating.
- Cramped second- and third-row seating, dated cabin design, low-grade interior plastics, side airbags not available.

Owning a XL 7 - 2004 Suzuki XL-7
By Lippy - July 12 - 10:00 amI have had so many compliments on this Vehicle, hour nice looking it is how sharp it looks, the sound system, the price etc. I thought driving a SUV would be like driving a bus, however it is easy to handle and has a smooth ride. I am very happy with the vehicle.

Finally an affordable 7 passenger SUV - 2004 Suzuki XL-7
By mrandmrsj - September 27 - 2:00 amIf you have a family with younger children , this is the SUV for you. You can seat 2 adults and 5 kids in this one. The leather seats (ex III 2wd) are a breeze to clean. Gas mileage is reasonable compared to other 7 passenger SUVs. Do not spend 30 or 40 thousand on a 7 passenger SUV/minivan without checking out the XL-7 first (especially if you have kids).

Awesome value! - 2004 Suzuki XL-7
By xl7is4me - September 11 - 10:00 amMy wife and I bought a brand new 04 XL7 EX3 fully loaded to haul our 2 kids around. All I can say is that Im surprised that it offered the same things as the Honda Pilot! Plus, the interior design is nicer, theres standard wood trim, and the leather is softer too. 185HP isnt a lot in the midsize class, but if you need basic transportation and dont need to tow youre absolutely fine. We recently took a 200 mile trip with our kids and a crowded trunk with luggage on the rooftop and I can safely say this car never ran out of breath. Im glad I found Suzuki!

My XL7 - 2004 Suzuki XL-7
By Jay Sargeant - September 11 - 10:00 amYears ago I owned a Geo Tracker which up to that time was the best vehicle I ever owned. Of course it was a Suzuki. I am pleased to say that I love this XL7, and though Ive only had it a short time, I believe it will be a reliable, capable, and versatile car for years to come. We love all the standard equipment for the price, it drives and handles very well, and I particularly like the body-on-frame construction as opposed to a car-based unibody. I recommend this vehicle to everyone in the market for a small suv.

XL7 Touring - 2004 Suzuki XL-7
By G. Kimzey - July 10 - 10:00 amExcellent overall. Good power and mileage. We use it for touring, back road 4wd. It is towed behind our motorhome. Off road and on road, it is easy to handle. We are amazed at where we have taken it in 4wd.A truly great all round suv. Will buy another when this one is several years old. Reliability is unsurpassed as is the quality. An excellent buy.

Beautifully done for a cute ute - 2004 Suzuki XL-7
By CD Ottawa, Canada - May 5 - 10:00 amDoes everything well: handles, rides, easy to drive, hauls, pulls. Pricing is though to beat. Tried many others, but this one fitted like a glove. RPM too high at highway speed though engine is smooth and quiet. Good quality fabrics and plastics. Dont have 3rd row therefore 2nd row should slide rearward a bit more. A bit too thursty for a small V6. Hatchdoor swings on the wrong side, should have lift glass to compensate. GOOD ventilation. Truly civilized for an offroader. Not the vehicule your neighbours will apreciate but boy you sure will.

By dmgdgc - April 16 - 10:00 amWe origianlly were going to buy a new 2003 xl-7 because of the 2000 rebate. with loan in hand at 4.89% and knowing we could get the 2003 model for 21,000 after rebate on carsdirect.com. NO Regrets - 2004 Suzuki XL-7
By Rob and Family - January 17 - 11:53 amNever considered a Suzuki until I test drove a friends. Couldnt believe the ride & creature comforts. Suzuki bent over backwards to to give the most for your money. My wife & I were looking at Rav 4 & Highlander but to get it equipped the way the Suzuki was equipped wouldve bumped the price well up into the mid 30s. The choice of Suzuki was a no brainer.
