  • A Car That Really CAN! - 2005 Suzuki Aerio

This is about the new, very improved 2005 Aerio AWD wagon, whch stashes an amazing amout of cargo, and still allows plenty of room for people and pets. Ive known of the Aerio wagon for several years, and have driven it on occasion in various parts of the country, always with admiration. However, the elegant and sophisticated interior upgrades prove that an already great car can become greater! The 6 CD sound system, with 7 speakersand woofer provide concert hall acoustics along with steering wheel adjustments. And the headroom for tall people is miles beyond the norm. Nothing really compares with this Aerio wagon, with its AWD --which is usually only found in more expensive vehicles What this car offers under $20,000 is so exceptional that its hard to imagine what else Suzuki could further provide that would enhance the integrity of this vehicle anyfurther. Its a great driving machine, with plenty of heart!

Picked Aerio SX after much hands on comparison with Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix. The Aerio has much more equipment, is much peppier up hills, and costs about $3,000 less. It might depreciate faster than the Toyota, but I plan to keep car until the end of its warranty, at least seven years. What I like most about the car is how it is so easy to get in and out of. You dont sit down in this car, you sit up - just slide right in and buckle up. It has lots of foot room and lots of headroom in the back. Does this height compromise cornering? As I do not do high speed chases through town, I havent noticed. There is an occasional creak coming from somewhere that I could do without. Also, I would have liked 16" wheels. This car has a great stereo. I can tune in out of town ball games.

  • Extremely Dangerous on Highways - 2005 Suzuki Aerio

The 2005 Suzuki Aerio is a danger on the highways because the front axles may suddenly break without warning!! In July 2011 while in a parking lot about to make a left turn from a stopped position, the left front axle broke. The dealers shop replaced Control Arm only. Two weeks later, went someplace else & had wheels aligned because car vibrating badly. Found CV joint damaged & boot ripped. CV joint replaced Sept. 2012. Oct. 2012, while stopped at a corner about to make a right turn, the right front axle broke. Called Suzuki in Calif. but they arent interested in the danger. Owners should stay off of highways and have front end carefully checked at once under strong light.

  • Price, warranty, and economy - 2005 Suzuki Aerio

I love my Aerio, especially its great fuel economy. At 65 miles per hour I am getting 35 to 40 mpg which has been a great suprise since it was rated at 25 and 32 respectively.

  • Best Little Car Around - 2005 Suzuki Aerio

Great Car, it gives you everything you need with only a few drawbacks. Besides the cheap interior plastics, it is great. Room in the front and back seats are good, storage is great, performance is good, and finally it is fun to drive.

I bought this car in the dead of the Canadian winter and had to commute many days through snow, ice and slush. With the ABS, AWD and heated mirrors this is a great car if you live in Canada. It is a lot of fun to drive and it is loaded. It looks small, but there is lots of space inside for the passengers and when you fold the back seat you really have a good station wagon. Also, the drivers seat can be pumped up very high, so you will have great visibility. So far I am really happy with it and the Suzuki dealership I bought it from offers outstanding customer service.

  • Poor tires, brakes, and shocks - 2005 Suzuki Aerio

The car is amiable. But I had to change all 4 tires at 18000ks and the front disc brakes at 30,000k and I was told the rear shocks are on their way out. To say nothing about the sticking shifter. At 70 years of age, I am hardly a cowboy behind the wheel.

  • Lots of Up Keep - 2005 Suzuki Aerio

My car eats my tires. 6 new tires in 2 years! I have to rotate them about every 2,000 miles or they will shred in no time. I have had to replace the brakes twice, both after only 8-10,000 miles, last time I paid up and replaced them outside of the dealership for big money and that seems to be helping. It feels unreliable, I wont drive it long distances as I dont trust my tires on road trips. Needed a new belt at 15, 000 miles and the paint chips off super easy. I would love to love this car because it is so super comfy, tons of room and easy to drive, but it has drained my wallet, it takes more to keep it running than its worth. Perhaps I got lemon.

  • What a mistake! - 2005 Suzuki Aerio
    By -

I bought my Aerio brand new, a year ago and have done nothing but repair this piece of junk since. Its front sway bar bushings came out of the mounting brackets four times, I have replaced six tires because they kept being destroyed by a mechenical defect, Ive had had three alignments done (the dealer took it to a body shop last time, maybe they had to straighten the frame), the power door locks failed, I had the front lower control arm bolts almost fall out, had styrofoam fall off the rear bumper (under painted plastic cover), and the heat shield for the exhaust manifold and the hood were lose and rattling the day I drove it off the lot. This was my first new car and it has given me more problems than my last five used Hondas combined.
