This Year's Model Updates:

As the Aerio is a recent introduction to the market, there aren't that many changes for 2003. Suzuki has bumped the horsepower up by four to 145 and nudged the torque up one pound-foot to 135. Other additions include integrated cruise control buttons on the steering wheel, a three-point seatbelt and headrest for rear center seat and a new cloth design. The GS and SX models drop the rear-seat armrest, get a six-disc in-dash CD player and have the optional all-wheel-drive available.

Pros:
  • Wagon-body style, available all-wheel drive, affordable price, large interior, powerful standard engine.
Cons:
  • Strange interior design, missing some key features.

  • Love my little mobile bubble - 2003 Suzuki Aerio

If you dont mind looking like youre driving around in a gigantic bubble-then this is the car for you. Im 511 and my husband is 64 and this car has enough room for us and our family of giants. I have had this same car for about 7 years now, used, and I havent had trouble with driving in the snow. I owned it through the summer in South Florida and through the "sno-maggedon" in Virginia and found it to be a great vehicle for either location. I will agree its basically plastic but I was side swiped a few years ago and it kept me safe. The cables on the battery though do fray so keep an eye under the hood ever so often. Otherwise its money well spent.

  • Very happy with my Aerio SX - 2003 Suzuki Aerio

After 2+ years and almost 40,000 miles we are still very happy with our Aerio SX. Oil changes and other fluid changes are the only money that weve spent other than a burnt out light bulb in the dash, (which was fixed in 15 minutes under warranty). This is a lot of car for not much money. Its gas mileage is a steady 27 - 29 in mixed city / freeway driving. We will purchase another Suzuki product when the time comes!

This is our fourth Suzuki auto and we are pleased with it overall. We have no major complaints at this time.

  • Dirt cheap and FUN! - 2003 Suzuki Aerio

First off, I got a sweet deal buying this car, and walked out the door paying only $12,000. Now thats out of the way... this car is simply fun to drive for an econobox. It may not be the fastest car around, but it surprises a lot of people with its pep. Plenty of headroom and storage room. With a 5- spd it gets great gas mileage. Much better than the EPA estimates. Handles well in turns, if just a bit hesitantly. There is significant body roll, because of its height, but Ive never felt like it was about to lose contact with the road. A bit too early to say anything on reliability, but so far so good.

  • Best Bang for your Buck in the Class. - 2003 Suzuki Aerio

This is a great car. Im going on nine months with the car, through a cold Canadian Winter with plenty of snow and ice, as well as the heat of early Summer. Reliabilty has been 100%. Cold Winter starts have been no problem (regularily -35C in Winter). AWD was wonderful for Winter, although it does take a slight change in driving style over your typical FWD, took about month to accustomize to taking corners properly in an AWD on ice. But now that that has occured ill never go back to FWD. Air is very capable in Summer heat. Car has plenty of power for its class. Excellent standard options. Suzuki has built a winner here.

  • What a cute car! - 2003 Suzuki Aerio

This is my first new car purchase and I couldnt be more pleased. Ive had the car less than a month and have already put close to 1800 miles on it. Drives great and catches the eye of many. I was first interested in the Pontiac Vibe, until I found the Areio SX - an awesome value for the $$.

  • Great Little Wagon - 2003 Suzuki Aerio

Im a college student who needed a new car, and I lucked out with my Aerio. Both my father and I fell in love with this car within minutes of driving it for the first time, and after a few months of ownership, and a once over by Suzuki, I am happy to say I have not experienced any major problems. My radio had to be replaced upon purchase and the light in the temperature/clock display didnt work, not major problems. Found out this was a rental car before I owned it, so considering that its in great shape!

I purchased my new Aerio SX in Yellow and I agree. The color makes people stop and stare, children wave, and the highway is always a funny journey. I was stopped at the Tolls in NH to be asked who made the car and what it was!! Love the car. Ride is great, and the size is perfect. Wish it had a Sun/Moon Roof for the future. I am ready to do the Commercial in order to show just how much fun a person can have in the car.
