This Year's Model Updates:

For 2006, the Scion xA gets a mild styling refresh that includes updated designs for the lower air intake, headlamps, taillamps, wheel covers and front grille. Inside, there is new seat fabric and the speedometer background is now white instead of last year's silver. The xA also receives a new steering wheel with audio controls, and the Pioneer audio system has a new head unit design and remote mini-jack port for portable music sources. Additionally, the xA offers dedicated Apple iPod connectivity, which delivers iPod display information and allows unit control and recharging through the audio system. Finally, the xA's horsepower rating drops from 108 to 103 due to new SAE testing procedures.

Pros:
Cons:
  • The cool stuff costs extra, modest passing power with automatic transmission, no cruise control.

  • WHERES 6TH GEAR? - 2006 Scion xA

I love my Scion. Its roomy, sporty, handles well, is a breeze to park, and, when driven properly (with the 5spd), gets good mileage and is comfortable on long trips. I am 6 and have plenty of head and leg room. I installed the better xB armrest that actually has storage and it fit perfectly. With the back seats down, theres plenty of room for my two huge labs and they love to ride with their heads out the window. It comes nicely equipped, and mine has no options but for the armrest. I like the iPod connect as well as the standard CD player. If you are single or childless, the xA will handle about 95% of your driving/transportation needs. Not just a kids car; Im 36 and love it.

At a time when the our (US) goverment mentioned our dependency-addiction to oil, the Scion xA brings the right mixture for a commuting car that includes excellent gas mileage, confort, looks and a low price with a conventional engine.

  • Just what I wanted for College - 2006 Scion xA

As a 22 year old college student I bought this car 1 year ago to help keep the gas bill down and because of toyotas reliability behind it. What I didnt expect was the amazing MPG, low maintenance costs, great sound system, and the room inside. This car has been everything I ever wanted in a car and I will own it for quite some time.

I really like getting behind the wheel of my 06 Scion xA. I have to get used to the front wheel drive. The only thing that I am missing is there is no space for beverage containers and no cruise control. The fuel mileage is very, very good.

I Love Love Love my Scion! Its stylish, comfortable, great gas mileage, unique, reliable. I want to keep my car running a long time so I perform reg. mntc. on it. Reg. oil changes, tire rotations, breaks, fluid flushes, spark plugs replaced. At my last oil change, the technician said my car is in great condition.

I just got my new Scion this past week and so far, i absolutley love it! This is the first brand new vehicle purchase for me and it was a breeze. My dealer was awesome. I got the Flint Mica color and its gorgeous. Ive had strangers stop me and ask about the car. I am very excited and I look forward to driving it until the wheels fall off!

  • Great car for my needs - 2006 Scion xA

I had the typical doubts about Scion. I didnt think it would survive as Toyotas child. The whole ad campaign of the hip gen y car is a bit tacky, but I believe but the car is a solid reminder that its a Toyota. I am one who prefers small cars however sometimes I fear that I am too small to be seen. The rear seats fold down easily to store my larger items when needed. Overall the Scion xA is a solid compact package. It is much cheaper than a Corolla with the standard options although the Corolla is a bit wider. The drivers seat position is more like that of a minivan or SUV and the speedometer and gauge are in the center, but this is easy to get used to and actually makes a lot of sense.
