Overview & Reviews
The 2003 9-3 is an all-new design from top to bottom. It rides on a new platform, has new engines and an interior that's considerably more modern than the previous version.
- Sharp handling, frugal yet powerful engines, generous passenger room, class-leading trunk space, excellent audio systems.
- Some turbo lag at lower speeds, not as vaultlike as some of its European competitors, front-wheel drive also a slight disadvantage.

Awesome Car - 2003 Saab 9-3
By bonds12000 - March 22 - 10:00 amPurchased after EXTENSIVE research on safety, drivability, curb appeal and overall value...NOTHING came close for the price. Ive owned several european cars and this car is by far the best I have driven... including the 2002 Saab 9-5 wagon I own. I upgraded the wheels to the 17" with pirellis....and chose the rich looking metallic midnight blue...this car turns more heads than my red miata convertible!

2003 Saab SE Convertible - 2003 Saab 9-3
By gggcag - March 20 - 3:50 amWe recently purchased a used 2003 Saab SE convertible with 25,000 miles on it. We wanted a convertible for summer fun and this vehicle certainly fills the bill! It has outstanding performance and is a thrill to drive. We live in the mid-west and promptly took it on a trip down south to take advantage of the warm weather and driving with the top down. Very little wind noise for a convertible and averaged 31 MPG! What more could you ask for?

Totally New Car - 2003 Saab 9-3
By former ford driver - February 20 - 10:00 amUnlike any Saab Ive ever driven. A true premium entry level luxury sedan. Holds its own and then some compared to the BMW 3s and Audi A4.

Love it!!! - 2003 Saab 9-3
By FRG - February 13 - 2:00 amI have had the car for 3 months now and still love it. Over the last 4 decades I have owned dozens upon dozens of cars and motorcycles and, so far, this is my favorite car. I believe it will remain my favorite as long as it is as reliable/trouble-free as it is "fun to drive."

Value - 2003 Saab 9-3
By HKC_93 - February 13 - 2:00 amThis car fun and jazzy. Its distinctiveness is one of the main draw for me, of course, value counts too, it has all the luxry you want plus more... Get one with sports package, you wont be out of style for a long time.

Saab on the Plains - 2003 Saab 9-3
By Flatlander - February 13 - 2:00 amHave owned my 9-3 Linear for 1 month and LOVE IT!!! The interior is roomy, and elegantly designed...the ride quality is great. Also tested a BMW 3-series and an A4, but for the price, quality and options the 9-3 was easily the best deal! Was initially concerned with GM influence, but rest assured this is a Saab! designed and built in Sweden!

One year mark - 2003 Saab 9-3
By scj - January 5 - 10:00 amOutstanding 1st year. Have owned Audi Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Volvo, Acura in the past. Saab 9-3 represented the best value when we went for a new car in August 03. Car has lived up to expectations. The car has the right amount of torque for daily driving. It is pleasant and smooth with adequate power when pressed. The Linear is a nice balance of riding comfort and handling agility (only my Porsche handled better). The car is one of the safest ever built (refer to crashtest.com for testing done worldwide).

Awesome...my second Convertible Saab - 2003 Saab 9-3
By SAAB for me Baby - December 22 - 10:00 amThis is my second SAAB. My first Saab 900 SE Turbo was a 1997 and I drove it for three years . In Winter, I drove right by BMWs during our major blizzards and watched them spin their wheels . The seats that first drew me to the car. They are so comfortable.. I am also 63" and fit nicely into the SAAB with leg room to spare. Performance-wise the new 2003 is a better handling car. The cat back sport exhaust growls and shell stay with or pass most cars. They build this particular car on the same assembly line as the Porsche Boxster...a little known Fact.
