this is my wifes car but I drive it on out-of-town trips because of utility and gas mileage. What a vehicle! She is 52" and I am 64" and we both love it! Its practical as well as classy. Gas mileage outstanding. Handles well both in town and on highway. I notice that the reviews by "experts" are all 20% lower than reviews by owners. Theres a reason for that. Roomy interior and flexible seat heights a plus for multiple users. the standard 1.8L engine is definitely light on hills -- be prepared to downshift -- but its an acceptable tradeoff for gas mileage. If you want the power get the GT and pay for extra gas(were considering it - WV is hilly)

I love the handling, comfort, and looks of my GT! I have the only one in my city and surrounding area everybody wants my car! I do not plan on trading this one I do believe I will drive it till the wheels fall off!

Im 66 years old and not the type of person Pontiac expected to buy the Vibe, buy my wife and I really enjoy driving it.I drove a small car before but this seems so much bigger. You sit high so you get a good view of the road and you dont mind the lights at night. There is plenty of room for storage on long trips.I feel confident with this GM/Toyota combination.

This was the very first NEW car I ever bought. I love it still. It is so fun and comfortable to drive. I often drive from the Southern US to Southern Ontario Canada and I have never had a problem with the car itself. This car has served as a mode of transportation, a hotel room, a way to move house, there is so much room!

I love this car! It handles well in the snow, you can haul anyting from a recliner to a table, and can even fit my 6 5" brother in it. It feels like an SUV without the high gas mileage. The only thing I regret about this purxchase is not getting ABS.

my Vibe is very manueverable, has excellent accelleration & gets very good fuel mileage. Having the household outlet built into the car is a great accessary & all cars & trucks should be equipped with at least 1 outlet. I had a back injury 2 years ago & the heating pad I plugged in is the only thing that got me through a 60 mile drive to & from work safely comfortably. As much as I love my Vibe, there are a couple of things I would have designed differently, cruise control & larger mirrors.

  • Great buy! Lovin the Vibe for 1 1/2 yrs - 2004 Pontiac Vibe

This was my first NEW car purchase and Im VERY PLEASED. My husband & I were originally looking for a small SUV, but when we compared them all (Rav4, Escape, Liberty, CRV, etc...) The Vibes stats were better. Its got a great, unique look - drives great (very smooth), AWESOME on gas mileage (we always get at least 30 mi per gallon, & its an automatic) We have 2 big dogs that love to ride in the back, weve hauled a lot of stuff... I will keep this car until it dies on me. Only quirks have been the front center storage compartment under gear shift pops open, wont stay closed. Right front window starting to make a click when its rolled up, havent had it looked at yet.

  • Great Little Big Car - 2004 Pontiac Vibe

Has a five speed manual with basic engine. With rear seats down, will take two bicycles and camping gear for a week. With front seat down will take eight foot objects like lumber or a projection screen. On interstate travel with the cruise on 70 MPH, delivers 40 to 44 MPG using quality regular gas. Roomy rear seat even for those over 6 foot. On interstate trips with two couples and all luggage inside is comfortable. Luggage did go to six inches from the top of the rear window. Mileage also 44 MPG under these conditions in the Midwest. Traveling near Breckenridge/Frisco, CO (continental divide) vehicle was underpowered going up very steep hills. Delivered 40 MPG. Great on snow.

  • A super car. - 2004 Pontiac Vibe

My wife drives this daily many miles. Has been very reliable. We had a little trouble with the stereo when we first got it. None since. The only other problem has benn brake rotors getting warped and making car shake at times. We have replaced rotors twice and pads three times. No other problems.
