  • Cute Car, But I Hate It - 2008 Nissan Sentra

I got a really good deal on my Sentra, thats the good news. The rest is mostly negative. The driving position is very uncomfortable for me. I am an average size woman 56" and I find the seats too small. If it was a purchase from any place other than a car dealership, I would have returned it for refund in the first week. But Im stuck with it for years. It has been in the shop 5 times. The clutch makes a noise when depressed and again when released. The side windows rattle in their seals. After 2,500 miles, the Service Engine Soon light came on and the cruise control stopped working. I definitely should have spent more time test-driving this car and exploring other options!

  • Movin Up in the World - 2008 Nissan Sentra

Moving from a 1991 Nissan Sentra to this beauty is like winning the lottery: you knew it would be good, but youre still in shock about it. My 91 Sentra made it 160,000 miles without engine problems, a strong factor in my decision to buy Nissan again. The car performs exceptionally well for the price and the CVT works adeptly for someone whose main driving habits are mostly city commuting. The power is not overwhelming, but it is there at a moments notice when you need it.

  • The best in its category - 2008 Nissan Sentra

I researched Civic, Corolla and Sentra before deciding to buy the Sentra. I was impressed by its size and feel. Sentra was bigger, longer and wider then both Civic and Corolla. Even though I liked the looks of Civic more, I choose Sentra because of some key striking features. The gear shift knob was moved towards the dash to make more room in the drivers cabin. The CVT feature made the drive very smooth. I chose the intelligent key feature and the music system had an auxiliary jack which enabled me to play my iPod. All this combined with good looks convinced me to go for Sentra. I am very happy with the car.

  • Best Bang for the Buck! - 2008 Nissan Sentra

Im a mid-to-later aged guy who is basically lazy and let me tell you that this car with the telephone modem and keyless entry is a dream! Except for the fact that its a bit tall and thin so it doesnt have the stability of, say, my honda civic, it is a really a great car and has a lot of room inside and in the hide away trunk. I only get about 26mpg but Im a heavy-footer. Ive broken the darn drivers mirror off twice in my tight garage so I think they need to be "foldable". The mpg avg on the dash is a joke but the radio is great. I have noticed that the tire pressure is a major issue and between the low pressure alarm as well as veering to one side or the other.

  • Nice little car - 2008 Nissan Sentra

I have a 30 minute commute every day twice a day, and then I drive extra to and from stores. This car is very nice, I have had it for almost 2 weeks and have only had to fill it up twice. It rides very smooth. The BlueTooth is a little annoying, but still a nice feature. It is also very nice to get in the car with a push of a button (twice).. but still i dont have to push in a code..or listen to the loud beep.. its very nice and convenient. The hidden spot in the trunk is nice as well.

  • Its ok I guess - 2008 Nissan Sentra

Perfectly fine vehicle to get from point A to point B. The ride was fairly smooth compared to other cars in the segment. I like the brisk acceleration. The doors had a good solid feel. This is the first car to get me car sick as a drive as the car rolled around in fast turns. I only averaged 28 mpg on the highway with the Sentra. This was probably due to the ride height, springy gas pedal and CVT config. Nissan still needs to improve their build quality. Plastic looked like they came out of a generic brand toy. Bottom line, you can get better driving dynamics, build quality, fuel economy or value with a Corolla, Civic or a Mazda3.

  • Happy Camper - 2008 Nissan Sentra

I traded my full size 08 Titan 4x4 in on this car because I refused to pay $100 for a tank of gas. Very, very painful decision. But in the end, it was the right decision. I looked at all the economy cars and happily decided on the Sentra. I havent had any problems with my Nissans. This car has nice room for its size (Im 6-4 and 36" inseam), pretty good quality manufacture, good power, 31-33 mpg, and handling is good except I get blown around pretty good in high winds and behind semi-trucks. I got a great deal on this car.

  • Great Value, but keep the dealer honest! - 2008 Nissan Sentra
    By -

I love my Sentra! BUT there were a couple of problems. The rear axle was bent upon purchase causing fishtailing in winter. Found it when I had the alignment ckd. Dealer tried to get out of it, but ended up getting it fixed for free. 90k miles on it so far. Do all my own work. Synthetic oil every 10k miles, CVT fluid myself at 50k, removed the cabin air filter. Grossly overpriced and worthless. Great value and looking forward to another 100k miles! Brakes have lasted far longer than I anticipated.

  • A fun little 4 cylinder...2 year lease - 2008 Nissan Sentra
    By -

Ive owned this car for almost a couple years and have had zero problems with it. Regular maintenance at the dealer but no surprises of any kind (the bad kind). It has decent pep for a 4 cylinder, can keep up with most cars on the road. Not a huge fan of the CVT, but can switch to the paddle shifters. Lots of head room and very comfy seats in the SER. Needs to have VSC, tilt steering wheel and sound control on steering wheel. A little bumpy on harsh roads, but very smooth and firm on normal roads. 26.5 MPG on mostly city driving. Overall, Ive enjoyed the car, but Im getting close to 40 and need the V8 roar, so Ill be turning this pup into the dealer at the end of the leas

  • So Far So Good - 2008 Nissan Sentra
    By -

I bought a 2008 Nissan Sentra after owning a pickup for years. I live in Northern Montana and thus far I have been happy with the handling on snow and ice. Unfortunately, Nissan does not offer a block heater for the 2008 model. Instead they offer an oil pan heater, which does OK. I recently started the car in -30 weather and had no problems. The interior is comfortable and roomy for a sedan. I stand 64 and have no problems with head or leg room. My biggest problem thus far has been with the fuel efficiency. To date I have only averaged around 23MPG when I was promised upwards of 30MPG. Overall, a good vehicle for the money.
