Overview & Reviews
For 2003, there is a new 2.5 Limited Edition trim, which includes GXE front fascia styling, the 165-horsepower QR25 4-cylinder engine, standard automatic transmission, standard Antilock Braking System (ABS) and side-impact supplemental airbags. The Sentra CA model is no longer available as all 1.8-liter engine-equipped Sentra XE and GXE models sold with California emission specifications offer zero evaporative emissions and meet SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicles) standards. Other changes this year include a new power steering ratio for XE and GXE, a revised six-speed manual transmission for SE-R Spec V model and a new bright yellow exterior paint color for the SE-R and SE-R Spec V.
- Pleasing cabin design, SULEV emissions for California-sold cars, 165-horsepower SE-R sport version, fun to drive.
- Generic styling, Limited Edition and SE-R Spec V models command premium price.

SER Spec-V - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By Christiani - December 15 - 10:00 amAsked for a free price quote thru Edmunds, got a 2003 Spec-v with Audio package ,mats and microfilter for $16835 plus tag title and taxes . What a car for that money. Other 4 Bangers had to be downshifted to get anywhere , Not the SER . Shifting is short and precise , alittle clunky , but its great to have six speeds . Tires and rims look great . If you are looking for the best bang for your buck , look no further than your local Nissan dealer.

Move over ION - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By Paul42 - December 8 - 2:00 amI only have 100 miles but I LOVE this car. Quick off the line and very peppy. Smooth but tight suspension with very little body roll. I would have purchased another Saturn SL but the ION just totally missed the mark.

(Of Course) Bang for the buck - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By Zeek - October 30 - 11:36 amThe Spec-V is one of the best bang for your buck cars available. It is also one of the few with four doors. It will run a mid to low 15 second quarter mile stock, but there arent many modifications available for the car yet, so for you tuners there isnt very much further to go. The car has its great points, handling, lots of torque, and styling, and its bad points,

Bargain - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By wacka - October 9 - 10:00 amWell after 3000 miles and first service, this car has not let me down (RF Package/Sunroof). It has good power, nice interior, great looks and a great feel on the road. The fact that I got this for easily under 18,000 feels like a steal. There is a pre-cat recall but it was taken care of with no problems. great car for the price.

My First Foreign Car! - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By bob@fagnant.com - March 20 - 2:00 amI gave American auto dealers 30 years to get it right but American cars are actually worse today than ever- and Ford didnt even honor their own recall! Sound familiar? So I bought a Nissan! I have been surprised at the performance and when a Honda skid to a crash, I was steady on the road. I just got nicked on my left mirror by a guy going 60 miles an hour down a side street today (and the mirror is still solid) and this is only my 3rd week! Buy one, its a great value for a foreign car and you only have one life!

So far so good - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By scott_c - March 15 - 2:00 amIve had a Sentra in the past and absolutely loved it. This one is much spunkier. Have had zero problems with it, but I have begun to hear a tiny squeak over rough roads.

Something to Consider (update) - 2003 Nissan Sentra
By VSpec_Silver2 - March 15 - 2:00 amFor V-Spec owners: Although the Sentra should be inexpensive to maintain (econosport car), there are some hidden costs which are shocking. I recently hit a pothole with my right front tire at about 45mph. The rim was severly bent as a result. Since you may not be aware, Nissan charges $580 for ONLY THE WHEEL! The tire is another $140! So the Sentra, on its face seems like a bargain but hidden costs can get you. Needless to say I ordered 4 aftermarket wheels/tires from www.tirerack.com for $1150 instead of paying $720 for ONE Nissan wheel/tire. If you dont believe this, call your local dealership for a price quote on a new Spec-V wheel.
