Cons:
  • Cargo space behind second row a few cubes shy of some rivals, compromised rear visibility.

Fun car to drive.. Gas mileage has been as advertised. Only 2 minor complaints.. Rubbing noise coming from trim around drivers door.. Shade from sunroof doesnt close all the way about 1/2 the time

  • Wasnt looking to buy a Murano... - 2009 Nissan Murano

On my way to sign the paperwork on another SUV, I decided to stop in and checkout the Rogue, - too small - salesman suggested the Murano and I test drove it - just because. I never made it to the other dealership and bought it right then. I have always driven Toyota and Honda but the Murano was much nicer and had many standard options. I have had the Murano for a month and I look for reasons to drive. Comfort, handling and the interior will keep me in this SUV for a while. The other SUVs I was considering, Toyota Highlander (wife has one), Subaru Tribeca, and the Hyundai Santa Fe. For better gas mileage use premium fuel and switch to full synthetic oil (Mobile 1).

I LOVE the 09 Murano. This is my first vehicle that I have purchased on my own. I love the way it drives, looks, the back up camera and the truck in general. I wish I couldve gotten the dual panel moonroof. Regardless this is the best vehicle Nissan has created. GOOD JOB

  • Too Many Rattles - 2009 Nissan Murano

I have owned this 09 Murano SL for 18 months. I am happy overall with this purchase, however I have experienced a few issues. After 6 months my brakes started squeaking, they finally fixed them by replacing the brake pads and lubricating the rotors. The brake pads were not worn, the problem was in the rotors. A few months later, the car started to rattle in many different locations. The service department is still trying to figure out the issues. My Murano SL is loaded with great goodies, more than my husbands Mercedes ML350, but its just not built as well.

  • It Doesnt Get Any Better Than This! - 2009 Nissan Murano

Looked at the Muranos prior to 2008, about the time I decided to buy one, they stopped production (none in 2008). When production resumed in 2009 (for 2010 models) I hit the dealership. Found the one I wanted - exactly - and bought it. OMG! Fell in love that day and still in the honeymoon phase with this Murano.

If you like style then you have to see the Murano, SL, or LE. This SUV is perfect, not too big and not too small. Drives like a car, so smooth on long trips, quality cabin upgrades. Im warning you if you drive one you will buy one. I did and love it. Got it fully loaded with everything but Navigation on my 2009.

  • Way to Much Fun! - 2009 Nissan Murano

Traded in my loaded 2004 Explorer XLT, and got my loaded Murano SL. This is a fun car to drive, to much fun. Have driven Trans-Ams, Grand Nationals and Chevelle SS. No this is not quite as fast as the last two but this is a very fun car to drive while not attracting to much attention from the man. My wife is right in telling me this car goes to fast for my foot, well over 100 easily! (Got a ticket to prove it, rats!). Be careful, but still loads of fun with the Bose system blasting and sunroof open!

  • Best Crossover for the Money - 2009 Nissan Murano

I researched a lot of different cars before settling on the 09 Murano LE. The LE came with standard features that many of the other manufacturers only offered as expensive package options. I looked at the VW Tourag, the Lexus RX, the Infiniti FX35, the Audio Q7 and Mercedes MLK but the Murano offered more features for less money. The Murano is simply the best value in its class.

I bought this to replace an unreliable minivan. Knew this was the one for me at first drive (drove highlander, RAV4, enclave, pilot). Great interior, unbelievably comfortable leather seats and driving position, great a/c, roomy interior, and nice Bose sound system. The ride is smooth, quiet, firm and responsive. There is mild body lean on turns. The power lift gate is on the slow side. Some blind spots, but fine. My kids love it because they dont get car sick in it! I only have 400 miles on it running about 20 mpg. The vehicle recommends premium fuel (the manual says 87 octane min) which can be costly with todays gas prices. The fuel tank is large though, maybe longer time between fill-ups.

I used to drive a Volvo V70. I considered a Lexus RX, Acura RDX and Infiniti FX. This had the best combination of drivability (also fun to drive) and comfort. Unfortunately, its cargo area is smaller than other premium SUVs. Seating, however, is very comfortable for four or five adults. Good, confident handling with a firm, but smooth and quiet ride. Fast acceleration. It is easy to drive around the city; although, the gas mileage could be better. Road imperfections, including potholes, are well-handled. Terrific at high speeds on the highway, very stable with reasonable gas mileage. Speed-sensitive steering works very well.
