Overview & Reviews
Not satisfied with the current crop of crossover SUVs? Nissan rolls out the newest car-based SUV, the Murano. It boasts a powerful V6 engine and distinctive styling.
- Very good use of interior space, unique styling inside and out, smooth and powerful engine.
- No third-row seating, SE model rides harshly, gets pricey with options.

Think hard before buying - 2003 Nissan Murano
By graydonlarrabee - May 21 - 10:00 amThis car went through make-ready and was delivered by the sales person with a defective computer-control-module for the interior lighting. It took the service deopartmet 2 hours to find what was wrong. The plasma display simply cannot be read in bright sunlight

Better Than I Imagined - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Keesu - May 21 - 10:00 amBought my loaded Murano about two weeks ago. Its a dream in many ways: ride, stereo, seating comfort, controls. My first choice was the Lexus 330, but for the price, the Murano is a much better deal. Got mine for MSRP out the door. Buy one of these if you want a reasonably priced sporty SUV with the comfort of a sedan and the utility of an SUV.

So far, so good - 2003 Nissan Murano
By steveg - May 17 - 10:00 amJust picked up the car. After driving 500 miles in 3 days I am very impressed. Comfortable and a lot of little details make this car very convenient. Love how the seats fold, the navigation works and seems very solid.

A FANTASTIC SUV - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Donato - May 17 - 10:00 amI carefully researched Toyota Highlander, Santa Fe, and Honda Pilot. It came down to Highlander or Murano. Murano won hands down in terms of style, ride, fuel economy, and what you get for your money. Then there was the cost. Murano is not cheap, but Executive Nissan provided me with the best car-buying experiences I have ever had: I was treated with respect and got a great deal. Toyota refused to deal on the Highlander and wanted too much money. This is a gorgeous and outstanding vehicle and it drives like a dream! I love it.

Dont buy it unless you like repair bills - 2003 Nissan Murano
By tacosauce - April 13 - 3:20 pmIts attractive because of the look & I just like the way it "sits". However just like any relationship looks only go so far. 1st off engine noise & road noise is horrible. Problems: It wasnt responding to the accelerator-had to replace the transmission, replaced alternator, replaced oxygen sensor, replaced intake valve solenoid, window fell down into door-replaced power window assembly, replaced transfer case, heated seat switches replaced, replacing rear window wiper requires special Nissan part, waterproofing & trim falling off all over the car, key replacement = $290 for remote+$150 for microchip key. Total repair costs $4,505. Car is garaged, only driven about 9000 miles per year.

Envy of my friends - 2003 Nissan Murano
By kukucachoo - April 9 - 10:00 amIve owned my Murano for a month now, and it has not disappointed me yet. I am the envy of all my friends. To think, I was actually going to get the Highlander....HA! This is 200% better.

Infiniti in disguise - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Rond - April 8 - 2:00 amFrom the first drive you wonder how Nissan pulled this off. This is so much like an Infiniti in power and handling that nothing but admiration comes from using this car/suv. It is solid, stylish, fast, precise in its handling. The controls have been well thought-out. There is a lot of room for storage. The seats are firm and comfortable for long drives. The fit and finish are excellent. I think this is a real bargain. What can I say about the design? COOL!

Its got it all - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Tomp - April 3 - 10:00 amReally an amazing vehicle. Nissan gets it! The car has a great ride (love the CVT), every convenience built in, an awesome stereo, great styling, decent gas mileage for an SUV, very roomy, sunroof, AWD, better than average horsepower, and all at a reasonable price for what you get. Ive driven BMWs before this car. Why bother paying the extra $ unless status in your neighborhood means that much to you! The navigation system is pretty cool too.

Nissan Murano 2003 - 2003 Nissan Murano
By Snapshot - March 29 - 10:00 amGreat power, acceleration and ride - very fuel efficient on long trips - have owned the car for 3 months now, and have nothing to complain about. The CVT is smooth and gives low rpmss and noice. Navigation system is great, good screen quality, even in sunlight. Spacious design.

we love our murano - 2003 Nissan Murano
By DOUG WILBUR - March 29 - 10:00 amRide is smooth very quite and comfortable. Took driving vacation within 6 weeks of purchase through mountains of southern Oregon northern California then over the "grapevine" into LA without a hitch. Fuel economy nearly right on with epa estimates but since has improved to the point purchasing premium fuel is not a pain.
