This Year's Model Updates:

There are only minor changes to this Nissan truck for 2006. A power package with keyless entry, cruise control and power windows, locks and mirrors is available for the King Cab XE, and NISMO and LE models now have chrome accents on the gauge cluster and air vents. Additionally, manual transmission-equipped NISMO models have a new shift knob for 2006.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, roomy interior, innovative bed features, stout frame and advanced off-road systems provide excellent capability in the dirt.
Cons:
  • No regular-cab body style available, too much hard plastic inside, choppy ride on pavement.

  • This is truly a truck of all trucks! - 2006 Nissan Frontier

I originally wanted to purchase a 06 Dodge Dakota (4 door). After test driving and noticing what was not offered, I was disappointed. I looked into the Frontier by accident, and after test driving it, I fell in love with it. For the amount of money you pay, it is so worth it! Nissan did a great job with the interior design. Everything makes sense and layed out well. I love the subwoofer and the installed satellite radio. The spray on bed liner is an added bonus. Overall, the frontier drives great, looks like a million bucks, and definatly gets the looks.

Great truck, fun to drive. First new Vehicle, but I researched every midsize truck available. Frontier had the best bang for the buck. Ive had a couple of issues but they were handled by the dealer with little trouble.

I owned a 1995 Nissan, 4 wheel drive for over 10 years, so there was no question what my new truck was going to be. The quality, dependability, and comfort couldnt have been better. Being 5 foot 2 inches, the step sides are a great help. The visibility and control of the vehicle is the best I have driven. From experience, I know that they work hard and have been able to handle anything I have asked. The 4 wheel drive is a must where I live, and having no more hubs to lock is an added bonus. This truck has just about everything that anyone could want as a work horse, plus comfort and style! The only difficulty is adjusting to the interior differences from my truck of 10 years.

  • Fun To Drive NISMO - 2006 Nissan Frontier

I brought this truck to replace my 95 GMC KC Sonoma 4x4 V6 5sp. I had about 115k miles of pretty trouble free miles. The biggest annoyance was the drive train noise when rowing the gears. Their was a LOT of gear backlash. When I took it to the dealer they said it was NORMAL and I should dampen the noise with using the clutch more........yea right! The shifter looked like it came out of a school bus or something. Gas mileage was 18-19 in the city and about 21-22 highway which wasnt too bad. I was going to to replace the Sonoma with the new Colorado/Canyon until I heard that GM in all their (stupid) infinite wisdom decided to put an I5 instead of a V6 or I6. So I bought a Frontier.

I looked at Nissan and Toyota. Drive them both.. you will pick the Nissan. Looks very tough.. rides great. My first tank of gas I got 19 mpg. Not bad for the first tank and a 6 cylinder. Lots of room inside. I have 3 boys, and they fit nicely in the back. The rail system and spray on bed liner cant be beat. Braking is responsive and stable. Steering is very sensitive. Radio has good sound. Lots of cup holders. Glove box feature is good. Im 6" 2" and have plenty of headroom and legroom. My favorite truck I have ever owned!

The day I bought this truck, my family and I went camping. It was very cold up in the mountains, but the truck never stalled or anything like that. It always started right up. And even now, the only problem weve ever had with it was a flat tire. This truck also has great handling. On those twisty-turny roads in the Sierras, the truck handled so well, I never worried about what a steep drop it was. So, this truck has been a very reliable and fun to own vehicle.

  • More bang for $$ then Tacoma! - 2006 Nissan Frontier

Great midsize truck, plenty of getty up,handle and rides nice for a 4x4. Youll pay 2-3 K for Tacoma same equipt. Dont think Toy is that much better if at all! Fuel is so-so 16-18 normal. 20-22 Hiway! Yes would buy again best truck Ive had in along time. Its head and shoulder over my old 94 Nissan. Had 160 k when I bought the new one. Bang the buck Frontier is it!
