Overview & Reviews
There are only minor changes to this Nissan truck for 2006. A power package with keyless entry, cruise control and power windows, locks and mirrors is available for the King Cab XE, and NISMO and LE models now have chrome accents on the gauge cluster and air vents. Additionally, manual transmission-equipped NISMO models have a new shift knob for 2006.
- Powerful V6 engine, roomy interior, innovative bed features, stout frame and advanced off-road systems provide excellent capability in the dirt.
- No regular-cab body style available, too much hard plastic inside, choppy ride on pavement.

Go anywhere! - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By Ry - July 7 - 10:06 pmI commute 100 miles a day. 100,000 miles to date. Great on fuel & highway smooth. Through the foothills of the rocky mountains in wheel deep snow the 4x4 is perfect. No repairs only tires. Ive driven/owned the others too. Buy this truck!

Just a great truck - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By Pioxen - June 3 - 8:03 amBought my 2006 Nissan Frontier in November 2008. Havent had a single problem with it. I drove over black ice and hit the center barrier damaging the front end and rear driver side. Minimal repair cost and no frame damage...what a tough truck. Ill drive it till the wheels fall off!!!

Awesome - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By Steve - May 19 - 7:33 amMy last truck was a 94 dodge ram 1500, this thing so rocks compared to my old dodge, I cant believe I have waited so long to get a new truck. Acceleration past 60 is very good. I opened it up on the highway and was at 100 with out even straining the engine. Feels like it was made for me. What more can I say. I have no complaints, rides and drives great. Fuel consumption is not so good, but hey, its a truck...

Great Truck - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By Gaz - May 5 - 1:06 pmJust bought the truck. Used a friends Tacoma a few times and decided that I needed a truck. Going from a Subaru Impreza WRX to a truck was going to be difficult to compare performance wise, but comfort, features and design have impresed me very much so. My wife had an 03 Xterra and I thought it was terrible, but this new vintage of truck feels and drives great. Comparing the ride and features and looks, the frontier definatly has it over the Tacoma. Quite frankly I think the Tacoma looks very boring, inside and out.

06 NISMO lover - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By Lew - April 27 - 3:36 pmI have had my NISMO CC for 2.5 months, and now have 10,000+ miles on the odometer. I do not go off roading but my job does require me to make regular use of the NISMOs ground clearance as well as occasional use of the 4x4. This truck has performed flawlessly. To be blunt, I love this truck! People complain about the fuel mileage. I find it fair for a vehicle of its weight and performance specs. My job entails highway and city driving and I average 15 to 16 MPG. Recently I took the NISMO on a 1600 mile round trip. Going out(VERY windy) I averaged only 18 MPG at 70 MPH+. The return trip with better weather and slightly higher speeds returned 20.2 MPG. This truck rates a 9.5 on a scale of 10!!

brand new fun - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By mark - February 27 - 10:23 pmI drive Porsches... a Cayenne S a C4S and others... we have a lexus gx470 in the house also... I was looking for a pickup to leave at a weekend house and use infrequently to haul "stuff" in and out of a vineyard... drove all brands... The Nissan was a pleasant suprise. Well built, quiet, good power, thoughtful layout... and according to my 15 year old..."tight". handling characteristics were very good and since it has the highest safety/roll over record I feel pretty good about letting the soon to be 16 year old drive it... A great 4X4 with a nice V6 for a very reasonable price... Way to go Nissan... I actually left the Cayenne in the driveway for the weekend and drove the truck...

Nissan service is horrible - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By ray fitzgerald - January 24 - 4:00 amI had a fuel gauge issue on my truck repaired by me mechanic using Nissan parts I received a recall letter a week later. In order to reimburse the bill Nissan insisted on reworking the recall issue, The rework has been done three times and is still not correct. I have been on the phone with Nissan service and consumer affairs they never call back and have do not check or follow up on their work.

Great truck - 2006 Nissan Frontier
By normm14 - October 29 - 12:30 pmThis is a great truck to drive. Incredibly powerful, and roomy. I commute 50 miles a day, and I love the commute in this truck. Great in the snow and rain. High up, and the tires are actually beefier then the rims. Gas mileage could be greater, but that is what you get when you buy a truck.

By big ron - August 9 - 3:26 amI hate this truck, nothing but trouble. Every sensor went bad. Radiator went bad. Broke on inside one big mess Nissan would not fix. Transmission gone bad. Cant fine a new one. Will never buy another one. Should have stayed with Toyota
