  • Love the Gizmo - 2005 Nissan Frontier

Ive had the Crew Cab Nismo (a.k.a. Gizmo) for 5 months now. Its one of the most fun to drive trucks that Ive ever had. I was a little worried about the Nismo off-road package while on the road, but the stiffer suspension is fine in all but the roughest pot hole highways, where your back-end will try to beat out the front end at speed. The only imperfections that Ive had is a rattle in the dash when its cold ( I havent dropped it off for repairs until it stays cold so they can hear it), and the rubber stops on the tailgate fall off easy. I am RTVing them on when the replacements get here. Overall, I love the truck. I get an average of 16.5 mpg in town and 20 on long highway trips.

  • Buy the 2.5L if you can find one for sale. - 2005 Nissan Frontier

I bought mine new in 2005. Its 2012 and it still looks and runs like a brand new truck. With these high gas prices, having a truck that can haul light loads and get 22/23 MPG is really nice. Right now I wouldnt trade it for anything. And these are hard to find. Used 2.5L manual shift XEs are rarely found for sale, probably because the owners recognize their value. Took this 2WD truck on some dirt roads in Tennessee and had no problems at all. Very good truck.

  • A great truck - 2005 Nissan Frontier

After only a week with the truck, I cant offer any long term evaluations, but I can say without reservation that it is easily the finest truck Ive ever driven. I love this truck. Its the perfect size, the V-6 engine has all the power I could ever want, and its a sweet looking ride. The seats are comfortable, the ride gentle, but firm. Its as quiet as most sedans and well manored. The price is reasonable too. The fully loaded Frontier has everything I would ever want in a car or truck.

I was waiting for a new design over the 1999-2004. I got it and I cant complain. The V-6 is lovely and the power is a great thing to have both on and off-road. I traded in my 2001 T/A and I truly havent missed it. The crew cab is large enough to carry the kids and still truck enough to be functional. I just wish the 4x4 came with a sunroof. Otherwise, it handlse like a car and hauls like a truck. And the bed extender is...well if you want a compact pick-up or man van without turning in your manhood, buy it. I couldnt be happier, unless gas was cheaper.

  • 05 Nismo is Super - 2005 Nissan Frontier

So far, quite pleased with the NISMO 4x4 Crew Cab. It has plenty of power on the highway both for passing and entrance ramps. It has a comfortable ride and handles well. Ive taken it off-road a few times in the GW National Forest where it performs well. Took it up a steep hill with lots of lose rocks and gravel but it didnt hesitate. Have tried the hill descent but havent needed the locking differential yet. It did bottom out a couple times - perhaps I was going too fast for the humps. After driving 4 Runners for 20+ years,I decided on the NISMO because I wanted a pickup this time and the Tacoma needs premium gas.

  • Great Truck - 2005 Nissan Frontier

This is a great truck. POWER like no other. Ive already added a K & N air filter for added HP, and the magna flow dual exhaust adds a much deserved growl to this truck.

I tried a Toyota and the Frontier felt more what I look for in a truck. It handles very well. The breaking system with 4 wheel disks are excellent with no pull or noise. The design of the cargo bed is outstanding. The bed is coated and the extended bed with the cargo tie down system gives you fexability. The power is most impressive. I have to drive in Philadelphia and they are the most selfish and inconsiderate drivers. Because of the power I am less likely to be cut off when pulling onto a highway, something that happened to me all the time. My past Frontier had 169,000 miles on it, original clutch. I hope this one gives me the same reliability.

  • My Nissan - 2005 Nissan Frontier

This is the first Nissan of any type in our family. Trucks I have previously owned: 5 new full size fords (still have a super duty f250 10 cyl) 6 new full size dodges, 1 new Dakota, 1 new full size chevy. Since they upgraded the size and power of the Frontier I decided to give it a try, during my second visit to the dealership I bought my Nismo package crew cab in superblack. I absolutely love it. Prior to buying this year I also tried the dakota, tacoma, tundra, titan, chevy. No comparison - they all had different quirks that I did not like but with the Nissan I found nothing that I did not like. After the first thousand miles I have found nothing to disappoint me.

  • Fuel Emissions Control Valve - 2005 Nissan Frontier
    By -

my wife drives this truck to her work on a farm, and the roads are somtimes muddy. there was a build up of dirt and mud on the emissions control box on the drivers side rear wheel on the inside of the frame which caused the service engine light to come on, this build up of dirt cause the engine emissions control valve to fail. Bad disign on Nissans part, there should be some sort of fender gaurd to prevent the build up of mud on the emissions box. Great truck just dont drive in the mud to much.

  • 2005 CC SE 4WD - 2005 Nissan Frontier

Looked at 2005 Dakota, Tacoma, Colorado before deciding on 2005 Frontier SE crew cab 4 wheel drive with automatic trans. This truck is solid as a rock (sorry chevy) and built like a brick --- -house. Cant imagine anything in its class any better.
