This Year's Model Updates:

Although the Endeavor is an all-new vehicle for 2004, an upgraded 2004.5 model was released midway through the year to address some initial shortcomings. The list of upgrades includes more horsepower (225), daytime running lamps, advanced dual-stage front airbags and a tire-pressure monitor as standard. An improved ABS system (with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and traction control) is now available on LS 2WD models and standard on XLS 2WD and Limited 2WD. A full-size spare with alloy wheel and a towing prep package is now standard on LS AWD (optional LS 2WD) and XLS. Standard side-impact airbags for front-seat passengers have been added to the Endeavor XLS. Rounding out the 2004.5 changes are a handful of new options, including a rear-seat DVD entertainment system for XLS and Limited, and traction and stability control for the Limited AWD.

Pros:
  • Carlike ride, roomy seating front and rear, torquey V6 power plant, solid build and materials quality, good crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Less cargo capacity than the class leaders, polarizing interior design.

Used, low mileage Endeavors can be found for $10,000 to 12,000 under their original MSRPs. Mitsubishi dealers certify them with a 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty. We got our 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor XLS AWD with 13,000 miles on it, originally listed for $32,000, for only $18,800 with the 10/100 warranty with only Pros: -Awesome value - Powerful engine - Very roomy interior - Sweet car like ride - Great visibility out the front - 300W stereo - Tiptronic shifting option - Big side mirrors - Large cargo room - Comfortable seats Cons: - Poor rear visibility - Ugly looks from the rear - I dont like location of steering wheel spokes

  • Happy with our first SUV - 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor

We bought our Endeavor used with 24,000 miles on it and have been pretty happy. We had one issue with the electrical system in the front driver side door - the wiring harness had to be replaced - about $250. No other problems. We really like this vehicle, it is our workhorse. The only quirks are that groceries in the back will fly around, no matter how slow you drive; and if you have the back window(s) down, you have to have a front window down as well or their is a very weird, unpleasant cabin pressure issue. We love the AWD living through Minnesota winters. We would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for a fun, comfortable, affordable SUV.

vehicle lacks in many interior features. I owned a Montero sport that had much more interior features. I love the way endevor drives but dont think I would buy a new one for its price when I could get another brand with third seat for the same price

  • Good vehicle...fix mpg - 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor
    By -

I bought my Endeavor in March. I have had no problems with it, but the gas mileage stinks! I took it to Mitsu and they denied the problem. I average about 14 mpg in town. I would like to see the 17 it was rated for. I do get 20mpg on highway, thank goodness. Also, the valves do "clack" with mid-grade gas. Performance seems unaffected but it really does need the high grade. There is such mixed comments on this that I wonder if we have two different batches oof SUV. Also, of note, Im 54" and I have to have a "booster" to see out. For short people, I would recommend the power seats to increase your heighth.

First, I like the interior and probably that is why I bought it.Second, at the beginning I had a problem with differential, was making this noise and you could feel it as well.4 times at the dealer(long story)and I still think its not fix like it supposed to be.Next, had a problem with the sunroof (was leaking),3 times at the dealer.Next,I have a problem with getting this "Service Enging Soon" light,4 times at the dealer and still comming up.Also, as you know, Endeavors tank should be filled with high octane gas.If you try to put regular(87 or 89)the engine is not working properly.I will be going for service AGAIN with the Servie Engine Soon.

This has been a very comfortable, capable and secure vehicle to drive. I towed a 2500# pop up with little effort and approximately 15 mpg.

  • Super Performance - 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor

The ride is smooth and the gas mileage, comfort and performance is outstanding. Althought, it do not come with leather interior, it can easy be added via the dealer. This vehicle has excellent space for storage of varied internal features to support the needs of those that would like to step away from the crowd. Can easily be dressed for style because its well above the other sport utility vehicles. Ride like a car , look like a sporty utility vehicle.

I really like the look and handling of the Endeavor. However, there are a few standard features that I miss from previous vehicles. Heated mirrors. Auto locks at a certain speed for security reasons. Otherwise, it is a wonderful vehicle to own. Great on Gas! Plenty of cargo room.
