This Year's Model Updates:

Besides the addition of a Special Edition package that bundles together desirable features, the M-Class is unchanged. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • Strong range of engines, extensive array of safety features, comfortable for five, surefooted in bad weather.
Cons:
  • On-road handling surpassed by newer crossover SUVs, expensive for what you get.

Purchased new Special Edition 2005. Vehicle still looks great and drives very well after 5 years. Plan to keep it another 5 years. No major problems. Needed new tires after 20K miles. Dont kid yourself MB still sets the standards. Dont have to worry about safety for wife and children. Unfortunately for other brands we will continue to buy MB, next one in 2014.

Our 2005 ML350 SUV is great. Love the Special Edition package, navigation system, and park distance option. The interior is roomy. Cant wait to see how it performs in the snow.

This vehicle has taken its hit on fuel economy but I didnt buy this Mercedes Benz ML 350 (special edition) for this purpose. Its the best all around SUV that I test drove including the BMW SUV 5.0 which I liked but which was overpriced. The special edition includes 17 inch wheels which add to the comfort of the ride. Ive owned a Cadillac Escalade and had test drven all the comparable SUVs prior to buying and concluded that this luxury SUV had it all. The ride is comfortable when you drive this SUV unlike other SUVs which drive like a truck.

  • Not just eye candy - 2005 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

It is a great vehicle with everything a SUV should be and then some. I have driven several SUVs, but this one lets you know the very minute you sit down in the drivers seat that perfomance and control, as well as safety, have been adressed in this vehicle. Also, the comfort and entertainment package will blow you away. In short, prepare yourself for the best.

  • Sporty Feel - 2005 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Looked at from the outside, this vehicle looks small, but Im impressed by the cargo room. Two large crates for our German Shepherds will fit into the cargo section with rear seats down. Climate control system is superb, with vents in the rear seating area. Im also impressed by the safety features. There are no blind spots. Nice fit and finish all round i.e. no squeaks or rattles, but bear in mind only 3K on the odometer.

  • A Legacy? No ... But fits me well. - 2005 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

05 is the last year for the truck-like frame body, as well as the 5 speed automatic trany. Performs well off- road and in snow. As most other Mercedes, the unique electronically controlled gas paddle will have you looking for others in your mirrors. Car feels somewhat rough on turns even with BAS helping out. If you like extreme ride comfort, get an s- class ... after all you are buying a truck. No 50 mpg for this baby, but not a Hummer either. Both interior and exterior features lack one or two items, but generally satisfying. Overall fun to drive, especially in blizzards. This model is sometimes known for few reliability issues, which are usually covered under warranty. Fun to drive

  • This is an exclusive SUV - 2005 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

I traded my 2001 ML430 in for this and they ML430 came with more options like a sky view top this one only comes with a normal sunroof, this one also doesnt come with a cd-changer. Other than that the car runs like a dream and it is so powerful considering it only uses a little gas.The third row seat doesnt realy have that much room but it does its job.I test drove the BMW X5 which looks better that they ML but compared to the way the ML drives the X5 is junk and they X5 doesnt have safes or a third row of seats.

We have the car 2 years now, so far no technical problems. This is second Mercedes, the first one being an E320 4Matic. We came into the dealer to buy a C240 4Matic, but when my wife saw the 350, she was attracted to it. The price was very attractive so after a short test drive we decided to go for it. In retrospect, I kick myself for making such a spontaneous decision. The car is no comparision to the smoothness of the E320. This one feels really like a truck. But my main issues with the car are the engine and the fuel economy. The engine does not feel and sound like a Mercedes engine, it is underpowered and noisy, awful. Fuel consumption is horrible. Never will buy again.

Our ML350 Is the third Mercedes we have. It is great to drive in the mountainous roas in the Sierras. The best thing we enjoy about the ML350 is its maneuverability in the snow. We will not drive any other cars for our ski trip. The interior of the car is very practical and the dash board is very user friendly. We also use it to haul materials for our weekend projects, either using the top rack or by creating space by folding down the back seat. We are very happy
