Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Mercedes should be ashamed of their internal build quality - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

First, the engine, and ride have been great, but the internal comfort features on this $60K have been terrible. 4 front cup holders replaced @$80 each Keyless go doors dont work and need repair and redesign Replaced thee rear DOOR latch on the right passenger side so my daughter could get out of the vehicle $685!. Rear sunscreen not functioning (MB are notorious for this problem, yet the still dont have a better design from Bosch). First and Last MB. I bought the car for my wife who always wanted one, but never again. Toyotas are much bettter built. As a person of German heritage, I am ashamed at this vehicle! Embarrassment to not stand behind these problems out of warranty

  • Worst car ever bought - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

We have spent over 6,000 in the last 10 months for problems we shouldnt have. some repairs started at about 65,000 and I mean major repairs. This year, front end, sensors of all kinds at about 90,000. Just keeps on. Cant buy another car for awhile since were retired and the crooks at the Feds did a good job of evaporation of our IRA. Our other Merc was just fine. A 1998. We thought this Mercedes would last us awhile.

  • Be flexible for reasonable request - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

It is waired as it is: If you order a E without Sport Package, you can only pick Burl Walnut woodtrim; If you order a E with Sport Package, you cannot change to pick Burl Walnet woodtrim, you have to get the ink-like Black Birdeye Maple even you dont like it. The dealer can do nothing since the manufacture do not provide the change option. It just let me feel not confortable.

  • E300 fit for taxis in Europe not a luxury vehicle - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Styling and interior design is great. Smaller version of S class, however the 4 cylinder engine sounds tinny and the interior materials are getting cheaper. The MBTex doesnt even wrap around the entire front seats, with no audio on, the engine noise is loud and reminds me of a smaller import, seems like MB has put in cheaper materials and lighter materials to save costs and fuel efficiency. I drove this car for a week as a loaner while they were fixing my 2014 E350. Which is much more luxurious then this newer version. I would say in Europe they use smaller engine MBs as taxis and this reminds me of one. I would not purchase this newer model and will look to others when I replace my car

  • Transmission Problems at 104,000 miles! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Well, we bought the extended warranty (36 months / 100,000 miles) on our CPO 2007 E350 in February 2011 when we purchased the car. We were coming home from work in January 2014 when our transmission locked in 1st gear and could not be shifted manually or automatically. I contacted MB and was told that since the car now had 104,000 miles on it, I was was no longer covered and there was nothing they could do about it. They were very uncaring about my problem. We had the transmission serviced and were told that the transmissions in the 2007 E350s were American made by Chrysler (not good to know after the fact). We were told further that we should get rid of the car as soon as possible.

  • Quality - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Rebuilt transmission twice, numerous electrical issues, new shocks & struts within the first year. No service dealer.

  • Should have bought the BMW - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Profoundly dissappointed.Worst auotmotive purchase of my life.Wind noise so loud that normal conversation is not possible. No dealership support (in fact they made the car worse) no manufacturer support. 38 days in shop in 120 days of ownership, still not fixed. Unbelievable list of problems. Its not a wonder Lexus is eating MBZ alive!

  • 2003 e-500 - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

2003 e-500 has a very mushy ride, out of touch with the road, interior is way too light colored but few interior color choices, confusing controls, ordinary styling, has been robbed of mercedes qualities. out of touch with the driver, Ill drive my 1999 E-320 thanks, now thats a mercedes. would not buy again!

  • Dont buy this car...!! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

This was our first MB purchase, and our last. We have had every malfunction you can think of.. SOS, radio, tire presure, pulling to the right, and broken molding under front seat (check yours). I should have bought a Lexus. Dont walk away from this vehicle, run. Weve had little help from the MB headquarters, and the dealership is overwhelmed with malfunctioning vehicles. Ours has been in the shop 5 times in the last 9 months.
