Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

This is worst car I have ever owned. Every time I turn around something is wrong either with the electrical system, a/c, engine overheating or the windows wont go up. Oh and of course the cylinders keep going out. The check engine came on once again today two out of six cylinders are not working. I need another full time job to keep the car on the road. Not mention the $50+ oil changes. I wish I had my Infiniti I30 back. It never left me on the side of the road!

  • Not for a everyday car...WEEKEND car ONLY! - 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Its a beautiful car, however if you are in your 40s and this is the only car you will drive everyday think twice before purchasing. I leased the car for three years and I cannot wait to get out of it...I might have to buy it out right and try and sell it myself because I do not think I can mustard 2 MORE years in it. P.S. please do not plan on picking anybody up at the air port, because even a small suite case will not fit in the truck! I have an allowance of 10 K miles a year.. if i did keep it I will be lucky to have half the miles due to not wanting to drive it..

  • Got Transmission? - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I am compelled to write a review on this car after a year and a half of ownership because it has been a series of non-stop transmission problems which Mercedez cannot seem to fix. I do not know if they have fixed the 2007 model but you really need to thoroughly test-drive this car and ask around. Also, the back tires needed replacement after just 20,000 miles which seemed a little too soon. This car also has a totally unusable cup holder, something you think is just a small thing but turns out to be huge for us commuters. I am thoroughly disappointed in my $70,000 purchase and wish I had stayed with a Lexus, a car I thoroughly enjoyed for ten years.

  • !st time Mercedes owner - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

As a first time owner of a Mercedes, I am not impressed. The seating is not comfortable. No adjustable lumbar support and Im still trying to figure out what component of the seat frame is either loose or in need of replacement The seat "Pops" upon acceleration, deceleration or cornering. Im glad I didnt dish out the big bucks for a new model. This is 5 yrs. old. Next car will be a Lexus.

  • Benz in Trouble - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

The E class, although elegant, beautifull and world class, has been very disappointing. Reliability, simply stinks! Performance is unpredictible and truck like at times. This is the E5004matic, with the adjustable/adaptive suspension that is at the sport II mode is worse than my replaced Acura MDX 2004. Comfort is subjective, however, the level of noise inside the car is a Ford F150 on a train crossing. The Hydro nonsense brakes are the worst Ive had on a car, unpredictible, you simply do not have a clue everytime you want to stop how much pressure you should be applying. The car sticker is 70grand+. That is the problem?! for that much cash EVERY car in its class is a better one?

  • Great Design, Poorly Built - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

In twelve months of ownership, I have been to the dealer eleven times for fixes and repairs: replaced power seat motors; replaced remote keys (twice); reset of lock system so I could open my truck; replace driver door seal; etc.. I believe my car was built during Octoberfest. The dealer has been somewhat sympathetic, and MBUSA has been entirely arrogant. Next time a Lexus

  • Oil leak, major repair - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I bought this car with 50,000 miles, and it looked showroom condition. In the last two years, I have had numerous maintenance costs, up to about 6000 and now it needs about 2 to 3000 to fix oil leak, and the catalytic converters need replaced, 1500 bucks more. Apparently everyone knows about the oil leak problem with these models. This was my first Mercedes, and last.

  • Below average quality automobile - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I have owned my E320 since new--10+ years. In that period of time, I have spent an average $422 a month on routine service and an average of $534 per month on repairs. Repairs like 3 window regulators; rear differential seals (recall item); CD player went south after 5 years; leaky transmission plug replaced twice; right and left 02 sensors; vibration damper recall; airflow sensor; broken front coil spring; crankshaft sensor; entire rear tail lamp assembly. I have 120,000 miles on it. Granted a few but I dont expect repairs like from MB. I have owned a number of other autos and have not replaced anything like the things I replaced/repaired on this auto.

  • E350 AWL - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Break dust is too excessive. Windows need to be tinted somewhat. Side mirrors should automaticaly close when car is turned off considering the cost of the car. Back seat is too small. Although there are 3 headrests it really is not comfortable for 3 adults. Headrest adjustments on the passenger seat fails to perform

  • I Thought I Bought a German Built Car - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Overall disappointed with the quality of the car. Paint job is poor and radio has fail within first 500 miles. Would Not buy a MB in the future. Acura or any Japanese car tops the physdo German car mfg.
