This Year's Model Updates:

For 2006, both the wagon and the slow-selling C-Class coupe are history, leaving only the sedan. A V6 engine is now standard on every sedan model. The C230 gets a new 201-hp, 2.5-liter V6, while the C240 is renamed the C280 and has a 228-hp, 3.0-liter V6. The C320 is now the C350, boasting a 268-hp, 3.5-liter V6. 4Matic-equipped vehicles get an improved five-speed automatic, and rear-wheel-drive models get a new seven-speed automatic.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat, only available as a sedan.

  • Makes me want to get up to go to work - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

After two months, finally some bad weather for the 4 matic which was sure footed in heavy rain. The automatic winshield wipers are pretty cool. Although a smaller sedan, its interior does not seem small even when my wife and two teens go along. The field of view, steering wheel controls, mirror placement, overall performance, and ride make this the best vehicle Ive ever owned.

  • Fun Car - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This car is very smooth. I dont tend to use the car as hard as I did my 540 with a stick but the power and performance is there. Certainly it has a stiff suspension but I have found it civilized. Interior is confortable and functional. I love some of the details like contrasting stitching and suade details on the seats. Basically, if you want a really civilized car that can has heavy duty performance underneath the surface this is a great choice.

  • Perfect combination - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The combination of the engine power relative to the body size & weight makes it just perfect! I have always disliked Mercedes shapes especially interior, but the C55 made me become a fan of Benz. I enjoy most the low profile exterior of the C55 that only specialists know whats going on inside that car. in sum, I like the mixture of luxury & sportiness of the C55 AMG. Last car was Audi A8 4.2 quattro, and the stability of the C55 when ESP is off gives you real adrenaline rush on turns because it is really designed in a responsive way and is willing to coop by the second with the drivers style. With all due modesty, you have to know how to drive the C55 to take out the cars frustration !

  • New C-230 - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is my first Mercedes. My family love it. I bought the C230 sport Mars red with sat. radio. It may have been a bit pricey but you get what you paid for. The transmission was a litle tricky but very used to it now. Gas mileage is very good for a premium only car. It gets plenty of attention. I get plenty of compliments. It is a weekend car and my wife cant get enough of driving it. I would recommend this car for entry level budget buyers. I will never buy nothing but Mercedes.

I purchased this one year old former dealer loaner after an extensive online search. Ive mostly owned Japanese cars before, with one long term Volvo. This MB, like the Volvo, is a drivers car, not an owners car. It handles beautifully, is a great highway cruiser, is sharp looking and, so far, trouble free. I didnt get awd, tho Im now in the snowbelt, and I dont take it out in the snow much at all. Its fine around town, but its real strength is on the highway, very solid and sure, a real pleasure to drive. If it remains trouble free it will be a winner.

  • Wonderful - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This car has been a joy to drive. Although I have not had it for that long, I can tell you that Mercedes did not leave things out because it is one of their base models. Performance is also comparable to the BMW 325i, 325xi. I can promise you will have fun every day in this car.

  • My Brand New Toy! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

Ive only had my brand new black 2006 C350 luxury sedan for one week but wanted to give you my very first impressions. I bought it on a whim, giving up a car I loved (BMW 325i), so I was more than a little hesitant. However, my initial reaction is Im currently very pleased and hope it continues. The car is roomy, beautiful inside and out, and the 268hp engine gives it plenty of get up and go. You can hardly feel the steering its so smooth. So, Ill write again in a few months to let you know if the love affair continues...but my first impression is that this is a very nice car!

  • Small car for small people. - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

This is a nice drivetrain, giving stout acceleration and 25 mpg while being smooth and quiet. The chassis feels solid, safe. Slow steering and soft shocks make the car a cruiser, not sporty. The interior is very handsome, high quality and nice to be in. Im selling this car. At 6ft/200lbs I dont fit in it. The cars center door post is forward of the drivers seatback, blocking exit from the car. To exit the seat I have to swing both my legs out first, hook my left elbow out around the center post and leverage my way out between the post and steering wheel. If the side of the car is dirty so is my shirt sleeve. The things you dont notice until after time!

This is a well built & designed car. its very fast and drives great. I picked it over the 3-series and g35 coupe

  • Super Car - 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

This car is very unique. It is small and compact but it has all the luxury of a large sedan or limo. The car is so cool. Even the key is cool. It has buttons and it doesnt use metal in the ignition. You use a little box at the front of the key
