This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings freshened exterior styling to the C-Class. A new dash, redesigned seats and tweaked trim pieces help to polish the interior up a bit, as well. A new audio system with six speakers and a CD player is standard across the board. Further updates include an improved short-throw six-speed manual transmission and revised suspension tuning. A DVD-based navigation system is newly available, while the C320 wagon has been discontinued. The complimentary scheduled maintenance program has been dropped for 2005.

Pros:
  • State-of-the-art safety and luxury features, three body styles to choose from, pleasing power from top V6 engine.
Cons:
  • More expensive than competitors, ordinary cabin furnishings, small backseat.

  • My first Benz - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This is my first Benz and it sure wont be my last. I just returned from a trip out west and was very impressed at my fuel mileage of 35mpg running 80mph hwy. It was a joy to drive 10hrs straight in.

  • The Real Deal - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The classy/sporty combination this car boasts is unequalled in todays market. She handles remarkably well at any speed and is quite responsive when asked to politely grace the left lane. I cant keep from peeking back at the sporty, low-profile appeal she exudes inside and out. Soft leather, multiple steering wheel controls, and premium sound will keep this Benz in my garage for a long time. This entire purchase, from the test drive to the daily drive home from work has been the real deal!

Greatest car I have ever bought I have always bought the car that fitted my budget this time I bought my MB. I have longed for it since I was 5. Superior handling, Acceleration when needed majestic looks and affordable price. I think you can not put all of theses in a car and then some. Suspension and breaking is marvelous. Sound system is absolutely NiteClub. Real head turner. No modifications eve needed. Go to you dealership and check it out yourself. You won`t regret

  • Sleeper economy car - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

This car is a blast to drive and gets great fuel mileage. Average driving I get around 24.5 mpg back and forth to work (some city and some hwy) and during road trips I have gotten as high as 36 mpg. This blows away my old Taurus and this one is actually fun to drive and fun to be seen in! Bought mine used with 36k and now have 52k on it. At the last service had to have the drivers door switch panel replaced because the truck switch rattled in tune with the music (had to fight a little to get covered under warr), dealer also replaced center speaker and then replaced the cylinder head due to excessive carbon, all under warranty. Love the car and love the dealer until I see the cashier!

  • Best bet for such a low price tag - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Great car for a lower end MB. Very stable and powerful, the supercharger is a nice touch. Got it nearly fully loaded (minus navigation and bi-xenon lights). Still, not bad for my first car. Great handling, very responsive.

I have owned several cars, I must say the C230 has the quality and reliabiltiy that I was looking for.

  • Best Value in Sport Sedan - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I drove the BMW 325i, Lexus IS300, Saab 9-3 Arc, & Acura TSX, before buying the C230K. BMW was great at everything, but adding 17" wheels and sport pkg made it more than the MB, which came standard with 17" wheels & sport susp. Also, could get lthr-faced seats w/o high- cost lthr pkg. Added sunroof pkg which gets you the cool power rear sunshade and rain-sensing wipers. Lexus had smaller backseats and trunk, Saab had low resale value & turbo lag & fr wh drive. TSX is value leader, but fr wh drive hurt handling & interior too much like an Accord (which it is). C230 is very quick, point-&-shoot handling, AWESOME exterior styling w/AMG trim, incredible stopping power, fabulous gas mileage-32hwy!

  • Maxima, Accord or Benz? Stupid Question - 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class
    By -

I seriously considered the Accord coupe and Maxima, until I realized I could drive a Benz for the same price! This car is awesome. A great intro to Luxury. Looks and feels like a $50,000 car.
