Overview & Reviews
Extensive changes for the Tribute this year include a new base engine, restyled exterior and a new electronic four-wheel-drive system. A floor-mounted shifter replaces the awkward column shifter, and ABS is now standard on all models.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck, long list of standard features.
- Mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models.

4WD option - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Ed Solari - May 28 - 7:03 pmThis is my second 4x4 Tribute S. Also own a 2002 4x4 ES. The vehicle is both good looking and dependable. I only have two concerns. #1 in the 2002 model there is a 4x4 button so you can select full time 4wd. I like this feature a lot. In the 2005 it is fully automatic and you dont have the option to select full time 4wd and for that matter there is no indication what so ever if your in 4WD. I want to know if the system is working and if I am locked in. #2 The gas mileage I would consider to be on the poor side. I dont believe for a minute that the fuel economy is what it is rated at. This seems to be a common problem for many Ford motors.

Best of the Best - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Bfelosi - January 23 - 10:00 amThis is my 2nd Tribute and they only get better. The exterior is beautiful and the interior is even better, with very comfortable seating and a very smooth and quiet ride. Handling of this vehicle is amazing on sharp curves and steep roads. These vehicles are loaded with standard features! I am hooked on my Mazda Tribute!

Wonderful car - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By mia - October 12 - 7:36 pmThis is a great vehicle! My favorite part is the height above other cars and despite the gas prices it still makes great miles per gallon!

Awesome Vehicle - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By steelerfan500 - August 27 - 9:13 pmI lovemy Mazda, so far I have not had a bit of trouble with it. I got a great deal on the 6 cyl. and it has excellent pickup. The only 2 mistakes I made is to buy a black vehicle and to get cloth seats (I have a child) but the car is great I have no complaints at all. If I had to list something it would be to get better gas mileage, currently I get 21 MPG in the city.

best runner ever - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By jwallin - July 30 - 4:13 amThis thing is just fun to drive. It handles like a car and is easy to drive in 4WD in bad weather. Looks nice in my driveway!

great awd ride for $18,900 dollars - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By mazdajerry - July 13 - 9:50 pmMost bang for the buck for an awd suv, the Kia Sportage would be close behind. 200 hp and still 18-19mpg in town, and 23-25 on the highway is fine by me. In my opinion it is the best looking suv, with the MDX close.

Excellent SUV - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By dodgedude - June 18 - 1:23 pmThis is an awesome SUV! Lots of interior room, cargo area folds flat (with the rear headrests removed), handles very nicely, tons of value for the money. I only have 1000 miles on it so far, but its incredibly fun to drive, handles like a car too, especially on turns. Others have complained about wind noise - bah! Ive had this up to 85 mph, very quiet inside, quieter than most of the cars Ive had.
