Overview & Reviews
Extensive changes for the Tribute this year include a new base engine, restyled exterior and a new electronic four-wheel-drive system. A floor-mounted shifter replaces the awkward column shifter, and ABS is now standard on all models.
- Roomy and comfortable interior, peppy V6 engine, drives more like a car than a truck, long list of standard features.
- Mediocre fuel economy and driving range on V6 models.

my first SUV - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By big old baby - October 24 - 6:23 pmAfter 2 months its all good. I think this is the perfect size SUV for someone who is moving out of a sedan. Quality is top notch. Ride is smooth and quiet. Fold down rear seats allow a ton of stuff to be hauled. I like the style better than the Escape. Combined mileage of 22 MPG is pretty good.

great SUV! - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Lissa - October 16 - 7:20 pmI bought my Mazda Tribute last October. I love it; I bought it because I thought it looked like a sporty SUV with a lot of room to haul things. I have the v-6 and it has a lot of pep and go. Gas isnt the best (but no SUVs are good on gas) but to me its worth it to pay a little more at the pump and to love and have fun in what I drive! :)

Good buy for the price - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By lkiersh - August 17 - 8:46 amLove the truck, runs and handles great. My evaluation was that MAZDA offered the best package of this SUV compared to FORD Escape or Mercury Mariner. Downside is, no passenger operated power door locks. No daytime running lights offered. No tinted windshield offered (upper band). No backup warning system offered. Spare tire under the vehicle is a minus.

LOVE IT! - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Kris - July 17 - 11:06 amWhen my husband and I went shopping for a new vehicle for me, I wasnt sure I was ready for an SUV. Ive always considered myself a "car" person" so I was leaning more toward upgrading to a newer Honda or Acura than taking home an SUV. I am so glad that we came across the Tribute--it is so fun to drive, gives me all the space I need and more, rides as smoothly as a car, yet gives the visibility of an SUV. We take the Tribute everywhere and it really is exceeding our expectations. The gas mileage could be better (but I was used to a 5-speed Honda!) but all of the other perks definitely outweigh that one negative!

The Best SUV - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By T foster - June 6 - 2:56 amMy last car(Mercedes C240)did not handle as well as my new Tribute. The ergonomic styling is not only great to look at, but everything is accessable from my drivers seat.We have a BMW that needs to come with a Rhodes scholarship to be able to work the radio alone. Not so with our Tribute.the sound system is clear, crisp and very easy to use while driving.I feel like I am driving a sporty car, with great visibility.I do not feel as if I am driving a Bulky SUV.Same goes with the ease of parking. Definately the best vehicle I have ever owned, and I have owned them all!!

It meet the high expectations - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By C Daugherty - April 16 - 9:23 pmI love to drive. I actually enjoy car shopping. Ive driven all of the new Mazdas and settled on the Trib. I enjoy driving this car a lot. The handling, feedback and pick up are satisfying. The car stays very flat around corners and the car has torque when needed. (My wife and I got ride of a Honda CR-V for the lack of torque) The seats are comfy and the materials are good. Plenty of head room a 6 footer front or back. I got the Dark Red/Gray S 4wd V6 with the moon roof/audio package. For any car and the money you pay, the expectations should be high, the Trib does not disappoint.

Best in Class, Best in Price - 2005 Mazda Tribute
By Andrew - March 7 - 3:33 amI compared the specs of the Tribute against all competitors. The Tribute had the best specs in most areas in its class but about $2-4k less and a better warranty. I was very impressed. This is a great SUV. Could use some improvements, noted, but most all of them in its class could. The price couldnt be beat. This was a no brainier. Paid $16,750 4WD, auto.
