Overview & Reviews
For 2006, all vehicles in the Mazda 6 lineup have revised front and rear fascias, while sport package-equipped models get a new grille and side sill design. The optional automatic transmission on four-cylinder models is upgraded from a four-speed unit to a five-speed. Additionally, the V6 has been modified to improve exhaust emissions, resulting in 5 less horsepower (now 215). ABS and traction control are now standard on all i models, while all s models now come with an eight-way power driver seat, an alarm system and a standard side and side curtain airbags.
- More fun to drive than most family cars, slick-shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

Just love it! - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By mary - January 24 - 4:43 amHey, I just purchased this vehicle 5 days ago. I just love it! It drives so smooth and quietly. I love the pick-up it has. The AC is nice and cold. All my co-workers really like it too. The volume and channel control on the steering wheel is great without having to reach for the knob. My 16 year old daughter wishes it was hers. No way! All mine!

Dont overlook Mazda - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By Zak - December 18 - 9:03 amGrip, a fist full. Punch this car in the mouth and it takes it. I drive hard. It takes it as well as any honda or toyota. Yes I did have a cracked pre-cat to fix at 4000 miles but nothing is perfect. these things happen. The warranty took care of it. When you get a new car, drive her hard. Get the kinks out. Im extremely pleased. 9000 miles so far.

My Mazda - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By Wally Coolidge - December 10 - 8:00 amI only have 1600 miles on my vehicle at this time. I have found my Mazda to be efficient on gas, easy to handle and it appears at this time to stand up to all advertised statements pertaining to this particular vehicle.

Praise for a very good car - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By Tom - November 25 - 9:16 pmThe 2.3L 4 cylinder cars handle slightly better due to the reduced weight. The ergonomics of the hatch are unmatched in the sporty sedan market (even Saab dropped theirs). In addition to these features which put the Mazda 6 at the top of our list the car is a PZEV - partial ZERO emissions vehicle, meaning it pumps our 1/5th the pollution of similar cars. Also this car has a lot of Ford based domestic parts, including the new, larger, brakes from the heavier Fusion. Feel good about your ZOOM, ZOOM. It is not marketed as a car for flag waving greenies, but it is a car that feels good in more ways that just behind the wheel.

All around nice & sporty sedan - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By Blackjack72 - July 9 - 7:20 amIve had this car for almost six months and I love it. I like the design inside and out. The base model has plenty of standard features and a good size trunk. Ive wanted a Mazda 6 for a couple of years now and Im glad I got a good deal on the 2006 version.

Very nice car with minor flaws. - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By Daniel K. P. - May 28 - 6:26 pmIve only had the car for 6 weeks. So far I consider it a good buy. I will mention the flaws, and anything else Im happy with. The car doesnt have enough insulation to keep out surrounding noise. The turning radius in the car is too wide, which is odd. I mean, why? The lumbar support on the drivers seat has already broken. When stepping hard on the gas to pass on the highway the engine drops down to 2nd gear and the tachometer comes very close to the red line. The gas mileage is not as advertised, although Ive been told by a knowledgeable friend that it will probably increase in time with engine break-in. The seats are somewhat uncomfortable after sitting in them a while.

I love my Mazda6! - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By lovemycar - May 14 - 6:36 pmI have had my mazda for 3 years, and have done lots of driving on long trips and within the city. The current mileage is 60k. I have never had a single problem with my Mazda thus far. It handles excellently, and I consistently get compliments on the sexy look of the car. As a student, its the nicest car around. The interior is comfortable, which is especially great for those long road trips. I highly recommend the Mazda6!

Copper Blazed Fun - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By Matt - May 12 - 10:36 amI own a Copper Blaze Metallic hatchback with the 6 cylinder and the 6 speed auto. Great car that is plenty fast and looks great. A very visible car that hauls mulch, bicycles, or my wife and I to a fancy dinner. This car does it all. City mileage is a little disappointing (22-23mpg), but highway mileage is pretty good (28-30). With a decent size gas tank, 450 miles between fill-ups is easy. The manumatic is useless as in all cars but the 6 speed auto shifts nicely. Having to take the car in for an oil change is a bummer and Mazda will not sell the needed oil filter wrench through a dealer. Overall, a great value and a lot of fun.

Nice Car - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
By Greg - April 28 - 7:40 pmThis car is a lot of fun to drive - the Tiptronic transmission is great in the mountains and really helps the acceleration. It handles very nicely and cruises very smoothly at 80mph. Interior design is beautiful. Two complaints: fuel economy - I do mostly freeway driving and am only averaging about 20mpg. 2nd complaint - 800 miles on the car and the check engine light came on. Havent brought it in yet; but am sure its nothing - car is running fine.

By Shawn - March 30 - 2:46 pmI love my car, but I think my parents love it more. The sedan drives like a sports car.
