For 2006, all vehicles in the Mazda 6 lineup have revised front and rear fascias, while sport package-equipped models get a new grille and side sill design. The optional automatic transmission on four-cylinder models is upgraded from a four-speed unit to a five-speed. Additionally, the V6 has been modified to improve exhaust emissions, resulting in 5 less horsepower (now 215). • awesome car for the price - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

Ive had the car less than a week and am thrilled with it. Was not planning to replace my 01 Grand Am so soon, but was having weird electrical problems. Narrowed my choice to Acura, Mazda, or Honda. As soon as I test drove the 6, I knew I need not look any further. Its got more than the amount of toys I was expecting for the price. I love the way it handles, especially on the interstate. I have a long road trip coming up and cant wait to get out there and let my new baby show me its stuff! For once, Im looking forward to the drive...lol.

  • Lot of road noise - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

There certainly is a lot of road noise. I even took my 06 in for a front-end alignment and tire rebalancing at less than 3000 miles. Unfortunately, it was to no avail. Perhaps the factory 18" Bridgestone tires are the cause. I dont know.

  • Amazing Purchase - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

We recently bought a 2006 Mazda6 5-door after it came off a 12 month lease. The first year of depreciation on these is pretty steep and would recommend buying one a year old if you can, we got a $27,000 car for $21,000 by doing this, and its flawless condition with only 25,000 miles. We park on the street and love it because it has the versatility of an SUV but the packaging of a car. Its sporty, fun to drive and exceedingly comfortable, so far we love it!

  • Mazda 6 - Fun to drive! - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

Ive had a Mazda6 for a little more than a year. Ive been pleased to say the least. I have the Bose sound system, the spoiler, the sun roof and all the extras and its the Sonic Blue colored vehicle. The car has the pick up and go youd expect from a sports car and had the comfort and reliability youd come to expect from any automobile. The car is quiet, drives well, has great pickup and a sleek look. Definitely a fun car to drive no matter how far your going!

  • Best Commuter Car Ive Ever Owned - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

My previous car, a Mercedes C220 purchased new in 1996, was a great car but this 6s Grand Sport is way better for around town commuting. The climate controls are very easy to use, HID headlights are a big plus, and the V6 is so smooth I have found myself driving in manual mode wondering which nearby car is making the high-rpm noise. It really is that smooth. My daily commute burns fuel at a 28 to 30 mpg rate, depending on the weather (A/C on or sunroof open). I drive conservatively, keep the tires at 40 psi and the six-speed automatic shifts into high gear at 42 mph, all of which gives much better mpg than I expected. Highway mileage is unknown - Ive only driven it in metro Phoenix.

  • Lovin my onyx beauty - 2006 Mazda Mazda6

I just purchased my onyx black Mazda 6 hatchback just about a month ago. This is the first car I have ever purchased and I am loving it! I use my car for work so it is essential that it is very dependable.

  • Like it Better than Fit - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

After failing to come to terms on a Honda Fit, I started looking for alternatives. For $400 more than a Fit Sport Automatic, I was out the door with this far more substantial and comfortable car. The rear seats fold down and the trunk is huge. All my friends and family, as well as myself, have been impressed with this car. Mine has automatic transmission, and side air bags. I also installed the Sirius myself (which I highly recommend). I have averaged 30.2 mpg in real world commuting driving. With the 18 gallon tank, you can plan to travel over 500 miles on a tank full. The car came with Michelin tires, power windows and locks, tilt and telescope steering and power mirrors.

  • Good looking car but bad quality - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

Its a great looking car, but a lot of repairs. For the last 2 years Ive been around 30 times to dealerships, I changed the transmission twice, trunk shocks 4 times, battery, changed tires twice and so on. Now have problem with the engine and my warranty just expired. I am not recommending to buy this car - a lot of trouble. I am so tired to go every time to the dealership and wait for my car to be fixed, sometimes its more then a week I have to wait, its time consuming and a big headache. The car is shaking when you start this car. Slow switching from gears. Does not accelerate fast enough.

  • Biggest Bang for the Buck! - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

Shopped everything in the midsize range and nothing compared. My wife drives a 2002 which is a great car (paint dings way too easy) but the Mazda6 gives us the sports car we were looking for. We tried the MazdaSpeed6 and loved the turbo and the all wheel drive but could not justify the price jump. We went for the 4 cylinder over the 6 for mpg and the balance on the 4 cylinder seemed better. The automatic was nice but the 5 speed added more get up and go. I chose the moonroof package to gain the Bose sound system which is awesome! I drove a Grand Am and the Mazda 6 is so much quieter and more comfortable that Pontiac should be ashamed. The comfort and inside/outside style screams value.

  • Great Value - 2006 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

For around 15 grand, this is a lot of car. I got the base model with a manual transmission. Performance is OK considering its a four cylinder, but the fun factor is increased by the great handling. Ive been able to get up to 32 mpg in mixed driving, mostly highway commuting. Ive had to take it in twice for minor emissions problems that triggered the check engine light, all fixed under warrantee. I swapped in a sport grille to make it look a little more sporty, and really am happy with my choice after 10 months with it.
