  • Quality family vehicle - 2011 Kia Sorento

Performs well, a little bumpy but the springs in drivers seat popped in second year. Best value in the cars we looked at, maybe saved 5K and it handles just as well. Interior is nice but fabric on seats stain pretty easy unless you upgrade. Its been a very reliable car with the recall items taken care of.

  • Another KIA with poor MPG... - 2011 Kia Sorento

My wife and I purchased a Spicy Red 2011 Kia Sorento LX AWD in March 2010. The vehicle has 16,000 miles on it and we have yet to see over 20 mpg on a full tank of gas 50 city/50% highway. The original sticker said 21-28. The EPA changed the ratings for the 2012 and 2013 Sorentos I believe but not the 2011 models. Why? I contacted my local dealership and they said that the AWD 4 cyl should not even be sold in two cities--SF and Pgh due to the amount of hills. I would hate to see what the V6 gets if a 4 cyl is getting 20 in mixed driving conditions. In 2012 we leased a 2013 Optima LX thinking that perhaps Kias MPG on sedans would be better. False--19/20mpg. Buyer beware of Kia!

  • Almost a year now...... - 2011 Kia Sorento

Well, its been almost a year now (and about 27,000 miles), so here is my homest take on the 11 Sorento EX 4 cyl AWD.... MPG - From all the posts Ive read it seems that I am not alone in reporting sub-advertised MPG. My 40-mile daily commute results in no better than 21 mpg on a consistant basis. This was a major selling point to me. Even an all-highway trip to/from Florida from Ohio only saw 24 mpg at best. Suspension - having been a service writer for a Ford dealership, I know suspension issues when I hear them. I hear them with this car. Apparently, I am the only one who hears them. Service department cannot confirm the loosness in the front end. Hmmmm. More soon....

  • front edn problem with 2011 Kia - 2011 Kia Sorento

We bought a 2011 new Kia Sorento 1 month ago. From the start the the steering pulled to the right. I took the car back to the dealer twice. the problem was not fixed. Yesterday ,I got a call for the service manager that there is a problem with the v6 2011 Sorento and it is with the spring coils in the front end. Apparently this has been a problem because the spring coil parts are on back order. I guess a lot of poeple are having this issue with their Sorento. I am very disappointed with Kia. This is a brand new car and already Im having issues with the car. The car has not been fun to drive because of this uncomfortable hold I have to use while steering the car.

  • Back Again - 2011 Kia Sorento

I wrote one of the first reviews on this car in Jan 2010. At that time, it was great. Since that time, I wish I never made the purchase. One fine day, all of the oil leaked out due to a bad seal. After 3 attempts to repair, finally got fixed. Now, about every five to six days Im blessed with check engine light for a misalligned cam shaft or crank shaft. How nice. And the rattles that have developed - about six as best I can count. The seats rattle, the rear hatch rattles. the dasboard rattles. And the ride is noisy when driving on anything other than smooth roads. Pulls to right, had fixed twice, to no avail. Bloothooth - no good. Gas milage is bad. Never again. Goodbye.

  • Eye Candy leaves you with a sour taste! - 2011 Kia Sorento

2011 Sorento EX with sun-roof and convenience pkg. V6. 3,500 mi This vehicle had a bold, yet classy exterior look.Very appealing from most angles and in most colors. Dark Cherry is still my favorite and glad I chose it (even though you lose some contrast with the various black trim (ie. fog lmaps). Interior is very nice even with cloth seats. Modern and classy (Plastic dash and arm rest could use better materials). Radio is Fair. Sun-roof broke within a few uses and makes annoying vibrations and rattles. Breaks are weak and can be grabby. Transmission has horrible down shift at ~30 mph.Suspension is terrible like a go-cart! Several vibrations and rattles inside. Ride decent on smooth roads.

  • Not at all what its supposed to be - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

Bought the high end SX thinking it would have all the great features and a responsive engine. The engine was terribly unresponsive. The electronics in the vehicle kind of worked when they wanted to. Not at all what I expected from the high end model of what was supposed to be a fairly reliable vehicle. We took a loss and quickly traded this vehicle in because of the multitude of things that were going wrong and the poor support that came along with it.

  • Not impressed in Nashville - 2011 Kia Sorento

After an hour and half of us signing on the dotted line, we had a check engine light come on. When you read the manual it says its related to the omission sensor. After 3 months and many visits to the dealer, we (dealer/manufacturer) think the problem has been resolved. Kia sent a field engineer to the dealer who spent, in total, 3 days trying different things and replacing several parts. Also, over the course of these three months we had other issues arise. The backup camera picture was distorted at times. The DVD player didnt work. The Auto climate control function went out and makes a rattling noise. And the list goes on and on. First time buying a Kia and not impressed.

  • Buyer beware - 2011 Kia Sorento

Ok..I got rid of a 03 Kia Sedona that was literaly falling apart as we drove down the road. We decided to buy a middle of the road 11 Kia Sorento since the price was 10k less than comparable SUV. SO, biting the bullet and thinking that KIA, after years of bad press and horrible customer satisfaction would IMPROVE quality when they built 11 Sorento in GA., we were shot point blank. Car has driven 250 miles and the car needs back rotors replaced, front realignment due to a hard right pull and an alternator recall service, this is after two recalls. To top it off, the airbag module box on the front passenger dash creates an outline through the dash covering. Warranty may fix but this is bad!

  • Disappointed - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

Its been 3 months since my unfortunate purchase. Vehicle shimmies on first morning start up. Burning smell in cabin -interior lighting shuts off by itself -Electrical problems in general. Bad customer service. I thought $45,000 would go further than 5000km. I guess not by Kia standards. Service manager said the shimmy on morning start up was "the natural characteristics of the vehicle" Like that was going to make me feel better. I havent even mansion the loud undercarriage noise when you hit small bumps. In short, I took my chance with Kia and lost miserably
