The Sorento is an all-new SUV from Kia. Larger and more powerful than the pint-size Sportage (which is expected to return for 2004 after a 2003 hiatus, by the way), the Sorento straddles the emerging middle ground between small SUVs and midsize SUVs. And it does so while offering interested buyers true off-road ability. Key competitors are the Ford Escape, the Honda CR-V, the Jeep Liberty, the Nissan Xterra and the Toyota Highlander.

  I would buy this SUV again in a heart beat. I purposly bought the factor model, no extras and have been satisfied completely.

  I have taken back to KIA Dealer 3 times, twice for power steering pump and after all this I cant even rate a 1972 maverick from the dealership to drive while they fix this reoccuring problem. The steering will be fine for a day or so and then its like driving a 1960 model tractor.

  After owning a 2001 Ford Explorer, I never imagined that I would own a Kia, but after my first test drive, all that changed. To say the least, comparing the Kia to the Ford is like comparing apples to oranges. My Ford had a tendacy to jar ones "innards" at every bump in the road, whereas, the Kia takes them like a trooper! I could go on and on comparing the two, but I wont. I do know I have no regrets and look forward to the years ahead w/ my Sorento!

  I was hesitant to buy a SUV with a KIA nameplate on it at first, but after test driving the competition and seeing their MSRPs, there was no competition for the features and price plus the 10/100k powertrain warranty. After driving it for a couple of weeks I know I made the right choice. Do yourself a favor and buy one before the word gets out and hence the price increases!.

  Looks like a Lexus RX300...priced like a Hyundai. Great price, great looks, not great gas mileage. Back seat ride is bumpy. Storage space limited. Knowing all this, would probably buy it again because of the price.

  the car has good fit and finish and is comfortable on long trips there are blind spots on the right and the left sides of the car. the performance is good and the car is able to run smooth and stable at 85 + mph my only regreat is that the stick was not avalable at the time we bought it

  I bought this suv at towncenter kia in kennesaw. I paid at MSRP even there was markup for around 2000 dollars. the suv is so nice and quiet, compare to my 95 grand cherokee. it is just powerfulas my Grand cherokee and fit and finish is impressive. I had 170,000 miles on my grand chrokee and changed tranny twice that costed me alomost $2000 each. wish sorento do btter than Grand cherokee. And milage is better than i expect average of 20- 23mpg mostly highway. better than EPA suggest. may be because i drove so nicely(dont press accel hard) because it is new....

  We bought the sorento after looking at the Nissan Xterra, Honda CRV and Toyota Rav4. A big plus for us was the exterior body style. I was also very SUPRISED with the performance and the fit and finish of the interior. I never dreamed i would purchase a KIA for anything other than a work car. The warranty is icing on the cake.

  I almost bought an MDX - 2003 Kia Sorento

  We had a deposit on the Acura MDX, but it wasnt going to arrive until 2 months later. Our friend told us to look at the Sorento and at first we said "NO! Kias are bad!" But we went to the Kia dealership anyway and bought the Sorento the SAME DAY! The sorento costed us $12,000 and the sorento luxury package is practically exactly like the MDX! We LOVE it, you will too!

  After owning other SUVs that cost far more, it was a pleasure to find the KIA Sorento - its loaded with features, well made, fun to drive - and it comes at a very reasonable price!
