The Sorento is an all-new SUV from Kia. Larger and more powerful than the pint-size Sportage (which is expected to return for 2004 after a 2003 hiatus, by the way), the Sorento straddles the emerging middle ground between small SUVs and midsize SUVs. And it does so while offering interested buyers true off-road ability. Key competitors are the Ford Escape, the Honda CR-V, the Jeep Liberty, the Nissan Xterra and the Toyota Highlander.

  I got my Sorento EX 4WD luxery package retailing for just under $28,500 about a month ago. This car is an excellent vehicle. I had no problem paying this price because i have heard nothing but good news about this car. Kia - you have done a great job in designing and building a great vehicle. Now just put some effort in building your other cars better. I love my Sorento. GREAT JOB KIA!!!

  Its been one week since I purchased my sorento, so far Im very pleased with everything. This vehicle is handsome, powerful, well made, and cheapest midsize suv. With comparable features, sorento is by far cheaper than ford explorer, gmc envoy, and grand cherokee. As far as build quality is concern, this vehicle is better detail than honda crv or honda accord that I owned. Basically, I bought sorento ex with no option, and you dont need options, everything comes standard, including sunroof. This is truely the most beautiful car I ever owned.

  Absolutely wonderful SUV. German build quality. Asian reliability. 16,000 miles and no problems. Tight as a bank vault. Best build quality of any car Ive ever owned. Ive owned 3 Mercedes and 2 Beemers.

  Big mistake - 2003 Kia Sorento

  This was the worst vehicle choice ever!! We had it for 3 months and the radiator blew. Then all the window switches stopped working and the AC would not hold its charge. The transmission started going out when we hit 110,000 miles and when we traded it in, we only got $1500 for it. Thought that would be the last time I got a KIA that was build prior to 2005, but my wife tricked me and bought a 2003 Kia Spectra. We have had nothing but issues with that one also.

  At first glance, there seems to be a ton of SUVs available, but when it comes down to finding a true, comfortable, rugged, REAL 4x4, there are very few. If youre looking for one with all the features of the KIA Sorento, youd be hard pressed to find one for under $35,000, let alone for the $25,000 I got my 4x4 Sorento EX for. I drive a lot on and off road and I am completely pleased with my KIA thus far. The only features I wish I had were a DVD player for the kids and an in-dash Navigation system for me.

  Why would I look at a KIA? That was my first reaction when it was suggested. . I started doing some research on the KIA Sorento (of course begining with Edmunds).I couldnt believe all the favorable reviews. I then test drove it and it was very smooth and for the money you pay the features and warranty cant be beat.When the only downside to a vehicle is that its gas mileage is about 10% worse than other models that is not at all much to complain about. if serious about purchasing neg. via the internet and you can usually get your best deal. I got mine that way for $200 over invoice well below even the Edmunds TMV.

  I did alot of research on the Sorento, I had not seen that many on the road. Everything that I had read was positive, and for the price you can not beat this SUV. I test drove it and was very pleased with the ride and comfort, also plenty of room for the kids in the back seat. And I was very pleased with the warranty, if a company is willing to back the vechile with the kind of warranty, they know they have built a great car.

  I was looking to buy a Jeep Cherokee or a Durango, but when I saw the Kia, I completely forgot about the competition. The price is better, it looks very classy, and is just as roomy as the other SUVs. People give my vehicle double takes, they are so impressed. Ive introduced the Kia to several of my friends, and now they are looking to buy one.
