This Year's Model Updates:

After receiving significant upgrades last year, the Sonata receives only minor changes this year. Among these are a battery-saver feature (in the event that any of lights are left on); illuminated window switches; a 12-volt power point in the trunk; and electronic, rather than cable-operated, releases for the trunk lid and fuel door. Additionally, Hyundai announced that it had misstated the horsepower ratings for all of the models in its lineup in previous years, so the Sonata's four-cylinder is now rated at 138 horsepower (down from 149) and its V6 is rated at 170 (down from 181), though the engines themselves are unchanged.

Pros:
  • Excellent warranty, stylish sheet metal, pleasant highway ride, lots of bang for your family-sedan buck.
Cons:
  • Noisy four-cylinder engine, some cheap interior bits.

Hyundai, and the Sonata are ready for PRIME TIME. Well appointed, great fit and finish and delivers very good gas milage. The Accord, and the Camry may be a bit more polished, but Ill settle for a smiggin less shine and thousnads less any time. The Warranty is incredible. Hyundai has done its homework.

  • Fantastic Family Sedan - 2003 Hyundai Sonata

Ive recently made the jump from a BMW 318i convertible, to a Sonata. So far, I love the change. While it was tough to admit that it was time for the Family Sedan, I did my homework, and pick a definite winner. The ride is soooo smooth, and fun when you want it to be. It handles as well as my BMW (96) and has a lot more room.

Best car on the market. Best warranty and one of the best service offered by dealerships.

  • So far, so good! - 2003 Hyundai Sonata

Purchased a new 2003 Sonata w/the V6 upgrade and 4AT (no other options). Its great! Interior could use some minor adjustments - like seat comfort - the drivers side certainly doesnt "cradle" you (spoiled by my old Chevy Lumina!) The speaker sound quality is not the best - a little muddy. But overall, a GREAT deal! We were out the door at $15,806 (including a 1000 rebate). Mike and crew at Fitzgerald Auto Mall were upfront and very accommodating. More than I can say for some of the other dealers we visited before buying there.

In the past ten years, Ive driven Honda Accords and I like them. This year I just bought Sonata, my and I like it better than the Accords we owned before. After we test driving the Sonata, my wife wanted to buy this car instead of Accord, Carmy, and Passat. After I a few days research, most information I got from Ednunds and NSM auto sites, I made up my mind to buy this car. We paid $18,300 for this 2003 LX (at) with sunroof plus tax

Boughjt our 1st Hyundai product, being a Sonata LX. The vehicle exceeded my expectation with its workmanship and overall product performance. The quiteness of the cabin and 2.7 liter engine is unblieveable and quite peppy. I had to look at the RPM guage to make sure the motor was running. I purchashed it in the New Orleans are for 18,900.00 with a MSRP of $20330.00.

Have the Sonata LX for a month and it is truly a wonderful car. the value in this automobile in fantastic. Drives great, looks great and has good performance and features. One of the best "bangs for the buck" that is out there.Actually drives like my Acura 3.2TL yet was $12,000.00 less. My friends still comment on how nice it is from the outside and inside. If it holds up over time, then I have certainly hit a good find.

This is a very well built car for the money. This vehicle has a very smooth and comfortable ride and an excellent braking system with a 6 cylinder engine. The average mileage recieved is 28 miles in the city and 33 on the highway. The interior came loaded with all the extras including electric side mirrors and power windows. The rear seats fold down for extra cargo space when needed. The Sonata also comes with an am/fm cd player and 6 surround sound speakers.Have owned this car since March of 2002 and have not experienced any problems.Am happy with my purchase of this car.
