This Year's Model Updates:

For 2010, the Hyundai Elantra adds a new, fuel-efficient Blue model along with improved fuel economy for all other models. A new grille and chrome trim spruce up the appearance, while iPod/USB connections are now standard down to the GLS trim.

Pros:
  • High-class cabin for the price, smooth and secure ride, spacious interior with adult-friendly backseat, generous features list, low price, long warranty.
Cons:
  • A bit bland to drive, a few cheap interior bits, lackluster side-impact safety scores, engine gets noisy at higher rpm.

Very happy with my $14,000 commuter car. excellent on gas, reliability, comfort and all around easy car to own. Im glad I didnt wait for the 2011 model, b/c it seems to be about $10,000 more.

I now have about 16k on the car, over 100 mile daily commute. I ask a lot of the car and it meets my needs. It has plenty of pep. I can get to / cruise at 80-85 no problem. I just got over 32 m.p.g. for the first time, slowed down used cruise, plenty roomy - reliable, seats have improved. It does not glide or float down the road like my 08 Sonata 4 cyl but I had my 2002 Elantra 8 years 193k, you cant go wrong with a 2010 Elantra not as pretty as the 11 but for about $13,500 cmon auto, cruise,ac etc. - average about 30 m.p.g.

easy & fun to drive, reminds me of my motorcycle only is has comforts. bought it jan.7th under blizard conditions, does great in the snow. quiet, smoth comfortable ride. no radeles or squeks. sounds solid. milage range from 18 mpg (cold weather 10 to 15 min warm ups) 31 mpg on the road. I live in WV so not much interstate driving. im getting 26 mpg on the average and i love it. enough power to pass coal trucks in a short space going up a mountan, (thats the test). easy enough on gas im not afairade to go to the filling station anymore. doesnt feel like a compact car when im driving, excalent audio system, all controls heater & so forth easy to use. well desinghed id recomend it.

  • Best Small Car - 2010 Hyundai Elantra

I test drove Civic, Corolla, Soul, Mazda3, Focus, Cobalt, Aveo and others. I found the Elantra the best overall, huge points for comfort, roominess, and quietness. SE version had the handling and road feel the GLS lacks. I average so far 29.4 MPG mostly city driving. Not bad at all. Decent stereo, tilt/telescope wheel with controls, nice brakes and decent power for a 2.0L engine, a turbo would make this a little screamer. Decent looking, I got the Black Noir Pearl, decent wheels, very nice fit and finish, no rattles or strange noises. Large Trunk. Maybe lacking a few bells and whistles from other cars, but a great all-around vehicle that does what its suppose to.

  • Best Compact car for the Money - 2010 Hyundai Elantra

  • Wise choice fo - Money, Quality & Comfort - 2010 Hyundai Elantra

Had test drive with recent 2010 models of toyota prius, honda fit, honda insight and elantra. I liked the elantra ride the best. (No brake jerk like in prius, and no flimsy like honda fit.) Especially for the price you get all basic feature anybody with family looking for small/medium size car. Bluetooth, Keyless entry, ipod cable, Black and roomy interior is fun and comortable. Also air bags all around, quality wheels and break system, powerful engine, CC all features are perfect what a family guys is looking for. Thanks to Hyundai for making decent car available for the price!

  • Great Car, Great Price! - 2010 Hyundai Elantra

Lets be honest, if youre looking at this car, then you probably cant afford a lexus, mercedes, or bmw, all with nicer features. So when you look at this car for what its worth (and not compare it to cars out of its range), its an all around great car! It drives great, gets decent gas mileage, and its a very safe car! I was able to get the GLS sedan loaded with all power, cruise control, xm radio, auto transmission, and other features for just over $15,000 (after $2,500 cash back). :)

  • Cant go wrong - 2010 Hyundai Elantra

This is my 3rd Hyundai, just sold my 2002 Elantra with 193k miles - bought it new. I looked at Civics, Focus, Fiesta, Mazda 2 and 3 plus Subaru. I qualified for $3000 in rebates. I just bought a 2010 Elantra GLS PZEV, automatic with cargo net and mat for #13,100 plus tax, tags and docs. The sticker was like $17,870. You can buy other cars but $3-4k more. I own a 2008 Sonata with 62k miles. Hyundais are reliable.

This is my second elantra, my first was purchased new in 2008, a GLS model. I traded the 2008 for a 2010 SE model because I wanted the safety features and black interior the 2010 had. They are both great cars! The 2008 GLS was a wonderful ride and very dependable, it was hard trading it in. I love my new one, it is a rougher ride because of the sport-suspension but you get used to it. I test drove many cars before I bought my elantras but always came back to them. You get a lot for your money and a great warranty, it is definitely a great buy.

  • Happy with Purchase! - 2010 Hyundai Elantra

After much consideration I got a Hyundai due to price, options, and warranty (which I also got an extended warranty because I drive for a living). My car runs great, is very quiet, and is comfortable to drive in (I did have to get used to the headrest though - just a little different). I have not noticed any of the suspension issues others have mentioned here, but I did notice a difference in how the car rides with the SE vs. the GLS model. The SE is a much nicer ride, and hugs curves like a pro. It is a very responsive vehicle. So far I have gotten 30 mpg on average. Also the car looks small from the outside, but feels very roomy inside - which I like very much.
