This Year's Model Updates:

After a complete redesign last year, the 2010 Honda Pilot stands pat except for standard two-stage heated seats on the EX-L model and integrated rear window sunshades on the Touring.

Pros:
  • Pleasant ride, perfect crash test scores, decently roomy third-row seat, smooth V6, clever interior storage features.
Cons:
  • Back-of-the-pack brakes, sluggish acceleration, unremarkable fuel economy, button-heavy center stack.

  • Best SUV in class! - 2010 Honda Pilot

This is our Second Pilot, we traded in our 2006 EX- L. When we test drove the 2010, we were sold. We opted for the full featured Touring model, and have been pleasantly surprised with all of the features. For the price we paid (Just over $38,000) there is no way you could buy a comparable SUV in any other brand. The added benefit is, it is a Honda, which once youve owned one, sells itself. We have a large family, Three Kids, and this car does great on road trips. If you are on the fence on what model to buy, get the touring. For what you get, it is well worth it!

  • BEST SUV SO FAR - 2010 Honda Pilot

I never thought of purchasing an SUV, I was looking at sedans last year but then I never have enough room when I drive home for vacations. I looked at the pathfinder, highlander, 4runner and the aspen. Then while driving home I was passed by a fast moving pilot, I went for a test drive on all SUVs mentioned above but the pilot was the cream of the crop. It had everything I wanted and more for the price the room and comfort sold me. I wish the gas mileage was better since it has a engine management system but I already knew what I was getting into since it is an SUV.

  • Love our Pilot! - 2010 Honda Pilot

Overall, very satisfied. Primarily used by my wife who drives 1/2 mile to work one way. Mileage is bad but with wifes short commute, this isnt that critical. Engine compartment fuse box cover was missing and only discovered after getting vehicle home. This necessitated a trip back to dealer. Ride on highway not bad at all for a "truck". Acceleration and braking seem fine. Additional room from the 2007 Pilot we turned in at lease-end is a plus. Bothersome that the roof rack is a $400.00 extra. Other than that, no complaints.

  • Great Vehicle! - 2010 Honda Pilot

Previous to this I had a 2000 Honda Accord, after two kids we needed more space. This Pilot definitely has more space and can comfortably fit three across (with a car seat in the middle). It has a smooth drive and the gas mileage is as advertised, though I do not have a lead foot and drive conservatively. The interior is very roomy, I was surprised it was so big. The leather does seem a bit cheap since it seems like it discolors easily and attracts the blue color off of jeans, I have the light grey leather. Overall I am very pleased with my new Pilot. It gets great mileage, has lots of room, is very safe and easy to drive and maneuver and I enjoy it immensely!

I have put 1500 mi on my pilot in 2 weeks. The dashboard is well light and easy to read. The fog lights are GREAT. Gas mileage is about 20.5 so far, but its a Honda so I will get better. I dont notice any pulling to the right as mentioned by others. Handles very well in 6 in snow.

  • New EX-L - 2010 Honda Pilot

Took a 600 mile road trip over Christmas. The pilot did great, we have one 15 month old and another on the way. The vehicle is roomy and very comfortable to drive. Love all the cubbies to store stuff in. The suspension is amazing and the highway ride is great as well. I did not notice any lack of power and got 21mpg as it is not broken in yet. Go drive one for yourself, I drove a lot of vehicles but none of them stacked up safety and feature wise to the Pilot.

  • Love it - 2010 Honda Pilot

The Pilot doesnt disappoint. We test drove the Veracruz and Traverse and found the Pilot the best of everything for the money. We dont agree with Edmunds assessment. The options and luxury for the price is not comparable with the Chevy and the Hyandai. Weve already taken a road trip with three kids and two grandparents and the Pilot performed better than we could have hoped. The ride is great and it handles very well.

  • Great SUV to drive - 2010 Honda Pilot

After a lot of research narrowed it down to Highlander and Pilot. Test drove each 2 times and concluded that Highlander is actually a 4 seater with lots of cargo space and in that case my present Camry was already doing that job. So we went for Pilot knowing that it is a gas hungry vehicle compared to highlander or other SUVs of similar class. Chose 4x2 as I dont do much of activities demanding 4x4. Ride is smooth much like an SUV/Truck than a car which I felt in highlander.

  • LOVE MY HONDA! - 2010 Honda Pilot

This is my 3rd Honda Pilot and I wouldnt even think of buying any other brand. Ive never had any major work done on my other two and that makes this vehicle a major winner. More than just reliable. It handles wonderful, feel safe on the road and loaded with lots of extra goodies. If youre looking for luxury with a lot of safety and reliability, this is the vehicle for you.

  • Best SUV in its class for the $ - 2010 Honda Pilot

We researched every SUV in this segment and hands down for the $$ the Honda Pilot EX-L w/ DVD is the best product. I do not agree with the Edmunds review or some of the others I have seen. For prospective buyers, I would test drive and come to your own conclusions. We got this vehicle for invoice $32814 (MSRP 36155) and they threw in the front door window tint and pin stripe. I paid $261 to get the trailer harness wiring installed.
