  • Loveda van but... - 2002 Honda Odyssey

Its a great van. Lots of room...drives like a sedan...visibility is great...an SUV without a nose. However, I have had two small ~ problems. The van pulled to the right. Honda said it was the tires (Bridgestones). Bridgestone said it was the allignment. It said just fix it. Both were cooperative. Bridgeston replaced all the tires, but it still pulls??? Anyone else experience this?

  • Minivan Badboy - 2002 Honda Odyssey

Quite a paradox here. I bought this vehicle for the room to carry my large family, and Honda quality/reliability. What I did not expect was its MONSTER performance! When my family is not loaded in it, I can forget it is a van, and put its powerful engine to the test. They say it does 0-60 in 9 seconds, but I am convinced it sacrifices a second only because of its front wheel drive and rear weight distribution - You would be burning rubber from the gate if not for traction control system which immediately kicks in when you sink the pedal to the floor. The superior "van" features go without saying. But drive this one and ENJOY!

  • Be Aware Tranny Recall - 2002 Honda Odyssey
    By -

Had the vehicle a few months and started having tranny problems (not catching going from 2nd to 3rd gear). This model (and similar Honda vehicles) have a recall on the transmission...it has to have a kit installed or the tranny replaced. Other than that, weve been satisfied, its very peppy compared to the Windstar I used to have. The engine is much quieter too, although, on the road it doesnt seem remarkably quiet.

  • Solid Reliability - 2002 Honda Odyssey

I bought the Nav Model new and have only needed lube changes in 90k miles. The brakes are still good. The GPS is easy to use and very useful but has tricked me sometimes. I have few complaints but am thinking about a new Mini van now and dazzled by the high tech sizzle of the Quest but concerned about some of the negative reviews. But then this model of Ody has attracted far more complaints and I have had scant concern in the 90 k I have driven. My Ody drives like it is almost broken in and ready for more action but Oh!!! the Quests sleak, sporty, gizmo laden, futuristic, earthbound space shuttle appeal quickens the heart of a true technofile. I hope I luck out and get as good as my Oddy.

  • Hate paying markup - 2002 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I hate paying $5,000 markup and having the salesmen tell me basically "go somewhere else if you dont want to pay it" Im having regrets now. Its kinda noisy and Im having trouble with the sliding doors. The service department is just as arrogant as the salespeople. "If you dont like our service go somewhere else". Great handling and great storage area. But I hate getting ripped off. Maybe next time Ill try another model.

  • Great Van, Bad Transmission - 2002 Honda Odyssey
    By -

I previously drove an Acord for 7 years before buying the van. I expected the same reliability. Boy,was I wrong. The sliding door gets jammed frequently. That started around 38,000 miles. The transmission is shot at 69,000 miles. Too bad because this will be my last Honda. Good luck to the new owners. Keep your fingers crossed that the transmission problems have been solved. A very, very expensive repair.

  • Quality Minivan - 2002 Honda Odyssey
    By -

This is an excellent all-purpose minivan that drives more like a car. The 240hp engine and new 5-speed transmission are flawless. All things being equal, this is best minivan on the market. It has much more usable space than the Explorer it replaced.

  • GREAT MINIVAN - 2002 Honda Odyssey

  • Been Good to Me - 2002 Honda Odyssey

Love the pick up and comfort.Love the roominess. Excellent gas mileage even loaded and with A/C on. Great A/C and great for cruising long distances. Mine had been all over the US & Canada. Had Trans problems @ 98,000 miles (cant really complain about that) had the extended warranty so they put brand new one in with no hesitation. Only real complaint is a whistling noise at about 90MPH, tap the down window button quick and it goes away. Id consider another one but with the kids gone dont need that big of a vehicle. Maybe a CRV
