Bought our "E" Easter weekend. I cant remember another vehicle that was so unique. My wife traded in a 2003 Odyssey for this box of fun and I have to say that she really has fallen in love with how practical this vehicle is. Ive never seen here get excited about any car we have purchased until this one. Im not one for keeping cars very long but I think this will be a "keeper" for sometime. If you have not driven one ..you need to do so. It is one of the coolest and practical cars out there today. Just drive one.

Get past the ugly looks. Yes, we know. If the trunk was up front wed call it the elephant. Really, this little SUV (?) is the most practical vehicle Ive owned in 50 years. The only problem encountered is a little wind noise from the window gasket. Try it, youll like it!

  • Only one problem - 2005 Honda Element

I hate the instrument cluster. When are automakers going to get a clue, and start mounting the instruments so we dont have to peer through a tiny hole in the steering wheel to see the gauges? Counterexamples: Scion xB and Mini Cooper, whose instrument visibility is unmatched. So, even though the Elements steering wheel can "adjust" (DOWN, helpful if youre 4 feet tall) and the drivers seat can "adjust" (UP, improves visibility using the generous headroom), the only way I can see the speedometer is with the seat DOWN and the steering wheel UP. So no adjustment is actually possible, if youre an average 58" guy like me! If youre taller, youll likely never see half the speedometer...

Great vehicle for what I like to do, camp, bike and hike. Kids love it. Wife and daughter are horse folks and works out great for them too. Cleans up great, hauls tons of stuff, great AC.

  • not for elderly passengers - 2005 Honda Element

I truely love to drive this car and its great for just 2 and the dog holds everything, but taking elderly passengers in the back seat can be challenging. They have a hard time getting up and in and getting out. With the front door open, there is no frame for them to hold on to and you need a lot of side space to open the back door. I have a sun roof which can be too bright for those in the back seat while traveling since there is no ceiling panel to close it off. Thinking about tinting it darker. Unless you are a basketball player, you need a ladder to wash this car.

  • Its a Gimmick - 2005 Honda Element

For an SUV the Element is incredibly under powered and the AWD is no help at all with out ABS,which is not available on the LX model. The suicide doors are just a hassle especially if you are in a car pool. The person in the front seat needs to take off his/her seat belt and open the door just to let someone in the back.

  • chev tahoe to honda element - 2005 Honda Element
    By -

If you want to own an suv with low cost then this is for you, I have driven for five years a 2000 chev tahoe and this element delivers room plus!! All the room inside without cost! My tahoe had all the bells and whistles but the element delivers!! The only negative is with the 285hp in the tahoe I could just pass or pull out without pause whereas the element is slow but on open highway it is the same. but one thing to remember is getting in out if you have children, mine are grown so it is a pain to the sucide doors, I just wish I bought the element five years ago. I do miss the sitting up higher in the tahoe but the element can move in and out of traffic easy.

  • Own 4 Elements - 2005 Honda Element

Love this car. Currently shopping for the 5th in our family. Everyone who rides in ours buys one. This car is a blast to drive and VERY comfortable. Will own this for 10 years.

  • My second Element in 6 months - 2005 Honda Element

We bought a 2007 Element which is phenomenal in bad weather, so when the chance to pick up a 2005 model arose, it was a no-brainer. This is a different kind of SUV. Youre not going to go tearing around corners with it, but you will enjoy cruising on long rides.
