What I love & dont love of my Element ! - 2005 Honda Element
By Marty Wilson - September 29 - 10:20 amI do love this car but dont like the suicide doors in parking lots. Cant load anything unless you have lots of room to open doors. I also dont like the AWD. The cars a little low. We get snow and had a hard time. Ending up pushing the snow like a snow plow. When I want 4 wheel drive I want to engage it myself. I think this car would be great with regular doors. I dont like having to open mine to let clients out of back.

So-so vehicle - 2005 Honda Element
By Joe - September 8 - 8:14 amI wanted a CRV but it was over priced and under powered for the size. (After some research I see Honda 4 cylinder cars are woefully under powerses. Only logical reason for that its more profitable for the company then adding a V6) The 2005 Element was nearly $24,000 new, way over priced! - I bought used. The Element has been a like / dislike relationship. Its way too heavy for 150+ hp. A small V6 would of made it an enviously nice car. Had I done my homework and seen the maximum cargo, occupancy and fuel weight is a maximum of 675 pounds I wouldnt of bought it. That means 3 adults and some luggage youre already at or above maximum safe driving weight limit. When I first bought it I did my best to get the best mpg (22mpg), which meant from a dead stop to the speed limit (30 street-60mph Hwy) in about 60 - 120 seconds, that got old quick so I now get 13 city / 18 hwy. I was getting 28mpg in my V6 260 hp Maxima. Road noise is nearly unbearable, Im sure I have hearing lose driving my Element. Why do I still drive it? Laid off, making less income. I have no stomach to get into debt anytime soon. So Ill drive it till it dies.

Perfect - 2005 Honda Element
By katy7964 - August 24 - 12:51 pmThis vehicle is fabulous! The interior design is great. Despite only seating 4 it holds a ton and is roomy due to the design and flexibility of moving seats etc. It has a tiny turn radius, better than my previous coupe! I have the 5 speed and get really good gas mileage.

quirky looks, versatile vehicle - 2005 Honda Element
By Maria - August 23 - 5:45 pmVery fun to drive. Still a head turner. More interior room than my Nissan minivan, but shorter and easier to park. No mechanical problems to date. My 1st Honda, very impressed. Very solid, super leg and head room, only seats 4 though. I can haul just about anything and the interior floor matting is wonderful - I never want carpet again. Great for dog, crates and plants. No problem with the tall stance, the wind does not buffet it on the highway. The 5 speed manual transmission is a joy. Great sound, like the power outlets. Love the location of the shifter. Fun, fun, fun!!!

The Perfect Solutioin - 2005 Honda Element
By Arnold B Bondley - August 22 - 5:53 amThis is an excellent utility vehicle capable of hauling large-volume loads and filling the need for reliable and economical everyday transportation. The design inside and out was carefully considered and has proven to be ergonomically correct and durable. The styling will prove to be much more timeless than most other vehicles. Resale value remains excellent.

I love my box! - 2005 Honda Element
By Jeff - August 18 - 4:05 pmAlthough some of my friends think its ugly, I think it is awesome. The design is love it or hate it, but the utility of this vehicle has no comparison. We take it surfing, to Home Depot, to the clubs, to the grocery store, and even on some road trips.

Flying Toaster on Wheels - 2005 Honda Element
By Flying Toaster - August 11 - 7:32 pmMake sure you test drive this car before you buy! If you haullots its perfect. If for sheer driving pleasure, dont! The stock Wranler tires do a GREAT disservice to the car. The plastic in the car scratches EASY. You have to pamper what you put in or it WILL tear up. Gas mileage with K&N air filter is 24- 25 hwy and 21-22 city. Highway noise comes thru the cabin and the Wrangler tires dont help. Near 90-degree windshield catches rocks, bug etc that would bounce of more streamlined windshield. Engine in very adequate. For lots of cabin space, there seems to be little of for actual driver accessible storage, unless you put stuff on segmented dash-tray. Oil filter crammed in.

Element! - 2005 Honda Element
By cherubrocky - August 10 - 11:32 amSo Ive had my element a year now, and have been pleasently pleased with this vehicle. Ive put nearly 30k miles on it in one year driving cross country. I am completely content with it! Easy to clean, works well taking it up to hood to snowboard!

The Future of the SUV is here now! - 2005 Honda Element
By Ted A. van Landingha - August 5 - 3:33 pmA well-designed, practical vehicle that is both fun to drive, functional in almost any situation, and interesting to look at. This vehicle has created a sense of brotherhood amongst its owners, much the way Jeeps did in the past. Every owner that I have met says they prefer it to any auto that they have ever driven. Pros: great sound sytem, loaded with accessories, smooth car-like ride, solid and detailed constuction, huge back seat legroom, and a spacious interior. Cons: I wish Honda made an "Element Offroad" with full locking 4WD, huge tires and wheels, skid plates, a "real" roof rack like the Nissan XTERRA, and the Honda Pilot V6 engine.
