  • Answer to High Gas Prices - 2005 Honda Civic

We have only had our Honda Civic Hybrid for one month but the car is shear joy to own and operate. My 15 year old son is learing to dive and has only a permit. The Honda is a great tool for a new driver. The MPG graph shows exactly what your mileage is while you are driving. My son and I have a contest to see who can get the better MPG. Our best so far has been 50.2 MPG between fill ups and our overall average is 46 MPG. My son has learned very quickly that jack rabbit starts and stops eat up gas even on a hybrid. We have an 04 Miata and an 03 Explorer but we use the Honda 90% of the time. When we fill up at the gas puimp we seem to be the only ones who are smiling. Its the answer.

Car handles great. Its responsive and stops on a dime. Head room is low and drivers seat for tall driver has to be slightly reclined to be comfortable.

  • Fun and Smart! Who Knew? - 2005 Honda Civic

This is absolutely the best overall car Ive ever owned (40- something... Ive had a few). Its fun, fast, economical, and rates fairly well for the environment for a non-hybrid. Im delighted with the performance and dependability, and find the design unique. As an event coordinator, I haul a lot of gear, and am continually amazed at how much we can fit in this bad boy! Its just the bomb!

  • Best small car ever owned - 2005 Honda Civic

Bought the car for the obvious reasons,Honda reputation and great gas mileage. I was a little hesitant because this was the first Japanese car I ever bought but I guess its hard to tell these days with parts of the car coming from everywhere including the u.s. and it being assembled in canada. This car is everything I hoped it would be and more. We get consistintly in the high 30s on mostly country back roads and hwys and on a recent mostly hwy trip we got 45 mpg. I do run synthetic oil and make sure the tires are properly inflated to optimize gas mileage. We have 26k on the car now and have had no problems whatsoever. We plan on trying to get 300k out of it and it looks good so far!

  • Great Buy - 2005 Honda Civic

Ive owned my Honda Civic VP for 2 1/2 years and have to say it is great on gas, comfortable (Im 275) and needs nothing...ever. I get around 450 miles before I fill up and it takes about 12.5 gallons each time, so gas is brilliant. The seats are wide enough for my back and shoulders when almost nothing this size seems to be. I think the car drives as good as the day I bought it and could easily do 200,000 miles. I bought it for $13,400 and its worth #10,500 2 1/2 years later? Unbelievable resale value. I just wish I bought the four door not the two door, but the manual is zippy not like the automatic.

  • Dependable/Fun Car - 2005 Honda Civic

The Honda Civic EX special edition 4door manual is a really fun car to drive. The interior of the vehicle is also extremely nice. I have only noticed a few minor things that I dont like. For example the paint on the front bumper is peeling but other than that problem its a great car. I cant wait to get another one.

  • Gas Saver - 2005 Honda Civic

Great dependable car. I have gotten as high as 52.9 MPG. Driving on secondary flat roads at 45-55 MPG. I never got less that 43MPG and thats with the A/C going full blast. I am getting an average of 47MPG over the past 7,000 miles. I am 6-1" and I have plenty of head and leg room. I have no trouble keeping up with traffic at interstate speeds and the car will run along with ease at 80 MPH. Gas mileage suffers above 70MPH. Handles like a dream which makes me wonder why everyone isnt driving one. I drive it every day and with the price of gas at $3.20 per gallon this vehicle is a real money saver.

  • Gas Company Approval for Home Filling - 2005 Honda Civic
    By -

The quality of the US built CIVIC GX is excellent. The rear seats only two people and the trunk space is smaller because of the CNG tank. The fuel mileage is close to 31 mpg. Do not forget to get approval from The Gas Company before purchase if you plan to install the PHILL unit (home fueling) The selling dealer may not tell you about obtaining approval from the Southern California Gas Company. The PHILL can not be installed in all areas because the Natural Gas may not be approved for use as a motor fuel. It took 21 days for the Gas Company to approve the gas delivered to my home for use as a motor fuel!
