This Year's Model Updates:

The 2006 Honda Accord receives freshened interior and exterior styling and mechanical- and feature-related updates. Sharp eyes will notice the Accord's revised fascias and new alloy wheel designs. Minor engine tweaks, including drive-by-wire throttle control, result in a slight bump in horsepower for both the four-cylinder and V6 engine (a more significant development than you might think given the more stringent SAE testing procedures in effect this year). Additionally, the V6 sedan can now be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, and all V6 models have revised suspension settings, 17-inch alloy wheels and stability control. Last year's DX has been replaced by the VP (Value Package) trim with standard air conditioning and cruise control, and LX V6 and Hybrid models gain a moonroof. The LX Special Edition includes alloy wheels, rear disc brakes and a CD changer. The Accord Hybrid also picks up stability control and a temporary spare tire in place of last year's flat-fix kit. Additionally, the Hybrid model's fuel economy rating drops from 29 city/37 highway to 25/34. Finally, all models get a smart maintenance system and daytime running lamps.

Pros:
  • Roomy and stylish interior with simple controls, tight build quality, smooth ride, refined drivetrains, good crash test scores, strong reputation for reliability, high resale value.
Cons:
  • Tepid handling, brakes should be more powerful. Hybrid model offers no advantage in fuel economy over four-cylinder.

This car was built in good quality. However, this vehicles design is absurd because Honda tried to reduce manufacturing cost. Despite the poor materials used, people love this just because of its reputation...

Awesome little car my first Honda, I can see now why Honda gets all the press. The only beef I have is Im not very pleased with the front seats my back hurts after driving a distance in this car but overall I am very pleased. This car glides along you barely know youre driving it.

  • The rumors are true! Solid car! - 2006 Honda Accord

Smart choice, great looks, reliable and an all around solid car. Have had it for roughly a year and still glad I chose it!

  • Rocky start, but good now - 2006 Honda Accord

The folks in marysville ohio forgot to torque the front suspension properly when building the car. It took the dealer a couple tries to fix this. Car drives great, acceleration is quick, first tank of gas yielded 34.5 mpg (engine is still breaking in). I am very pleased with fuel economy. Manual trans is the way to go. My wife has a 4cyl auto accord and the manual accelerates stronger. Handles and brakes well. Love the value of the se model. Well balanced car in terms of acceleration/mpg. Highly recommend replacing rear speakers with boston acoustics from crutchfield.

  • Surpising Sedan Power - 2006 Honda Accord

The V6 6-speed manual sedan is a purist automobile. It offer the best of both worlds - a family car, yet plenty of power to pass "boy racers" and Billy Bobs gargantuous SUV. Plenty of room for car seats in the back and comperable room for luggage space in the trunk. The ride is friendly, quiet, and comfortable; although, the vehicle stability control is too intrusive when you want to test the car. The VSC module is always on default, regardless that it is not manually turned on as it would be during wintery conditions. Make it a completely passive option and allow the owners to play in the sandbox without the oversight of a computer module.

  • Great car - 2006 Honda Accord

Great car with great safety features, not to mention the great fuel economy. Very quiet ride with very good handling. I am averaging about 25 miles to the gallon with mixed highway/city driving. I only have 500 miles so far so the engine isnt broke in yet which should yield better gas mileage. I cannot express enough on how well the engine pulls.

  • Love the V6 engine + 6 speed manual - 2006 Honda Accord

This car strikes the perfect compromise (for me, at least) between sportiness and comfort. Handling is very good for this class, and the ride is smooth enough for long hours on the freeway (but, thankfully, not buicklike smooth :-). The combination of the quiet and powerfull V6 and the slick 6 speed stick shift make this car a joy to drive. The interior is very roomy front and back, and the build quality seems to be first rate.

  • Fun to Drive - 2006 Honda Accord

I do a combination of city and highway driving. The car is fun to drive and is quiet. I am disappointed with the gas mileage, however, it has improved slightly over in the nine months I have had it. Another disappointment is (and this may be my fault) that the windows somehow open after I park and leave the vehicle. This has happened twice and once the interior got wet because it rained. The Navigation system needs tweaking. When entering addresses and changing the city it reverts back to California cities, and sometimes it doesnt take the information I try to enter.

  • yet another one... - 2006 Honda Accord

Ive owned every style Accord since 1990, and this is yet another winner. I was about to purchase an Altima, but the Accords torque and smooth acceleration hooked me in. The VP gives us the basics we need, and the interior design is decent. I wish they would just add the rear speakers...how much more did they save by not doing so? You cant go wrong with a car with known reliability, quality and build.

  • Fantanstic Value - 2006 Honda Accord

A very solid, comfortable, and well-built car. Good, economical highway car. Car looks more expensive than it is. For the price, the car is very well-equipped and I have not missed any extras that are available on the other Accord models. Also, the car came with airbags and ABS as standard equipment. I am used to driving a small Civic, and have not had any trouble adjusting to the larger Accord.
