  • Mostly love it, - 2008 GMC Acadia

Mostly I love this vehicle. I had some problem with the skylight, leaked. Had it replaced, no problems. A few recalls, once the recalls were fixed runs well. Lots of room, looks smaller than it is. Back up camera, love this option. Mileage not as good as expected but its not any better than my old vehicle. I had a 1998 Safari van. I find that there are a few blind spots that I had to get used to. We had lots of snow recently, handles well in the snow and ice. I was impressed with that. Looks good, interior nice, lots of cup holders. I can even haul three hockey players one parent and equipment, including goalie equipment!

  • Great Ride and Better than Highlander - 2008 GMC Acadia

When my 01 GMC YukonXL was needed as a farm vehicle, began the search for a new family car. We loved the drive and comfort of our previous GMC yet no longer needed the size of the YukonXL. In addition, with a 62" all leg 14 year old and another boy growing, comfort was key. Looked seriously at the Toyota Highlander (family discount available). The boys tested both for legroom and comfort and Acadia far superior. Second row bucket seats have more mobility to move forward and recline than Highlander. Third seat easily accessible and comfortable to average- sized adult while not compromising space. AWD fabulous! In recent 3 snow, drove superbly. Overall a quiet, smooth drive.

  • Great for a family - 2008 GMC Acadia

If you need room for more than four and dont want to drive a truck, this is the auto for you. We have truly enjoyed this vehicle. We traded in a Toyota Sequoia and we would never go back to that beast. The Acadia is much easier to drive around town and has enough room for our kids and our luggage. The mileage is as advertised as long as you go easy. The transmission does take some time to get use to, but after a while you stop noticing it. The backup camera is very helpful. The Acadia is great in the snow and has the best heated seats of any car I have owned. Extremely comfortable during long trips. The heads up display is great with the navigation system.

  • GMC Acadia. One of GMs best! - 2008 GMC Acadia

As a 40 year veteran engineering manager at Ford, GM, and Chrysler I know a good car when I see one. I have driven GMC Jimmys since 1988 and held off replacing my 2001 until I could find a satisfactory replacement. Tried all the competition, Acura, Higlander, Honda Pilot, Mitsubishi, Volvo, Fords stuff, Dodge and Jeep. The Acadia outtrumps them all, even my wifes new MB ML350! Those who demean domestic carmakers need to go "looksee" and drive. Acadia is an excellent machine in every respect with just a few minor glitches, but great ride, handling, performance, quietness, interior, and content. Well done GM! As the Arnold would say, "Ill be back!"

  • Great Car, Great Value - 2008 GMC Acadia

I have been looking for a car for several months. We are a family with four children, two in college, two in high school. While we thought we could downsize with two kids out of the house, we found we still need space in a vehicle for when everyone is home, moving into and out of dorm rooms, hauling around friends, etc. This SUV is the perfect size for that...not too big, but with room enough to comfortably seat 6 of us and the dog. I shopped around a lot! Looked at MDX, Volvo, VW, Mercury. The GMC was the best price of all other models I compared to. I love the ease of use of all the controls, visibility is great as well. Not a luxury interior, but practical and well designed. Love it.

  • Better vs Pilot or Highlander - 2008 GMC Acadia
    By -

I had Pilot and Highlander, but when I bought Acadia I sold Highlander. Acadia is the best among them ride comfort, precise at speed driving, tech data like wheel base or 6spd auto or standard luxury like heated mirrors and wash liquid, auto hiding mirrors etc.

I love this vehicle. Everything is great about it. The look, the handling, the quitness at 0ver 80 mph (be creative), the options, etc.. But there still some small thing I wan to comment on. For a 40k car there is so much plastic inside. You expect it to be more luxurious but its not. Have bluetooth, for Gods sake we are in the 21 century. Premium sound system is so not premium, bearly giving sound. Guess they forgot to install the amp. The gas mileage is not so bad as long as you are babysitting it, but if you dare to push that pedal you will truly see the gas gauge is going down in front of your eyes, but that should be expected with a huge car like this. After all I still love this car

  • Great Touring Car - 2008 GMC Acadia

Took delivery and left a week later on a 12 day 3100 mile trip from Northern New England to Florida. Drove through rain, sun, wind, snow and ice and the Acadia performed perfectly. It handles and rides wonderfully, and averaged 19.8 mpg. Just retired and plan to do a lot of traveling. Looked at SUVs, minivans and crossovers and liked the room, comfort and features of the Acadia best.

  • Great family car - 2008 GMC Acadia
    By -

I have 3 kids and this car works perfectly. Has the second row captains chairs and an aisle to get back to third row. Fair amount of storage if third row partially collapsed. Fun to drive, much cooler than a minivan. Love having XM radio and OnStar.

Great crossover. GM hit this one on the button. Excellent car, lots of room, very comfortable. More room than the Toyota Highlander I had. Very smooth ride.
