  • Best Thing We Ever Did - 2008 GMC Acadia

My wife and I have had this car for almost a year and we absolutely love it. We had a baby last fall and travel back and forth from Lansing, MI to Western New York (425 miles one way) several times a year and this vehicle has enough room for all three of us our Yellow Lab and all our luggage. Its a dream to drive and with the cruise set at 74 mph I still average 23.2 mpg. When the rear seats are folded down you have more cargo room that you can imagine. Ive hauled lots of office furniture with it. I even towed one of my other cars (that broke down) from London Ontario back to Lansing. It towed like a dream too!

After testing several other cars including the pilot, highlander, and CX9 we chose the Acadia because it had the best internal room / design and it also handles pretty good. 3 Row space is good as well and access through the captains chairs that fold is really easy.

I drove a Honda Pilot for 2 years and needed a larger SUV, but had to keep mpg in mind. I have found that the Acadia has more room and is getting 2 to 3 additional mpg. The only thing I have found wrong with this car is the clothes hooks, instead of being at the back door they have been installed at the third seat and is impossible to hang clothes or reach them. This is the only car I have ever seen this in. I have had this car two month and just turned 7000 miles. I have not had a chance to see out the car tracks in snow.

  • I love my Acadia but - 2008 GMC Acadia

I love my Acadia. I love the remote start on cold day and how the lights stay on for a minute or so in order to make it to the house. I am disappointed in the gas mileage. I have a noise coming from around the left front tire, it makes a popping sound similiar to perhaps it is misfiring. The dealership says nope it is the ABS setting. Other than the popping at take off no problems and I hope once it breaks in the fuel economy will get better. I would recommend one to anybody wanting a SUV and room to boot it has it and it does not look like a mini van in the process. I plan on keeping it for many years.

I have always been a Ford Girl and have driven an Expedition for the last 10 years. When gas started going up, I needed something more fuel efficient. Test drove the Acadia, and fell instantly in love. Love the features, the interior is so roomy, and the exterior is beautiful. Wish that it was slightly more powerful, but overall, perfect. I would reccomend the Acadia to any and all who asks about it.

  • Acadia Borders on Excellent - 2008 GMC Acadia

The 08 Acadia is one solid XUV that met all my expectations and justifies the title, Made in USA (got rid of my German cars that had lots of reliability issues). The pitbull-like stance/exterior, interior design/ergonomics and handling are first-rate and deserve consideration by those looking for pax space and who dont want to drive a van. It feels like one solid block of wood no matter what the road surface is (I opted against the 19-inchers, w/c felt more jiggly and AWD, as my FWD felt quicker during the road test). The engine does have its work cut out for it when prodded lightly but moves the Acadia with authority when you step on it. Cornering ability is impressive.

I am a Mom with two young children. We love our new car. GMC did a great job with this vehicle. I love to just get out and drive. We have 3 other vehicles but I find myself wanting to drive my "Black Beauty" all of the time.

  • Best vehicle I have ever owned - 2008 GMC Acadia

Just got the loaded up model, just an awesome vehicle, the lazy transmission is the only drawback to this vehicle. Learning to live with it in light of getting better gas mileage than the old pig Yukon I drove. Really nice fit and finish, GM really got this one right. Bought the carbon black and cant stop opening the door to the garage to look at it. Also found myself taking rides for no reason. Love the dash at night, looks european (audi like). Cool ride and glad I got one as that was a chore in itself.

  • Best of the best - 2008 GMC Acadia

Look good in and out fully loaded. We had 21.9 mpg from Denver to Colorado Springs, 2 adults 2 children one two years old one 4 months and about 150 pounds of luggage that was 5 months ago. We have now 17 mpg for 90% city and 10% high, no shifting problem is not a sport car it is a big (suv cuv van) but not a sport car. We just love it.

I kept my old car for 12 years waiting for a car I liked. Loved the look of the Acadia when it came out so I researched it thoroughly and test drove it before purchasing the 2008 SLT 2 AWD in 2007(no DVD or Nav). I love it. My family of four drove from NJ to NC last summer, filled to capacity w/the cruise control on--22 mpg...not bad. I feel very safe driving this car at night. Headlights/fog lights really illuminate the road. The dome lights stay lit entering and exiting and the headlights, taillights and backup lights stay lit as well, giving full view around the car. Great in the snow and ice too--even on inclines and declines.
