Overview & Reviews
The Taurus receives a few changes this year, most in the name of simplification. Trim levels have been pared down to just SE and SEL, last year's huge array of packages has been consolidated and a comprehensive wood trim package is now standard on the SEL. Later in the model year, a tire-pressure monitor system will become standard on all models with alloy wheels.
- Low price, roomy interior, good crash test scores, available as a sedan or a wagon.

Love my Taurus - 2005 Ford Taurus
By Steve Book - January 1 - 6:58 pmSolid Car - its a tank in the snow, and for a 3.0L engine, has lots of low end power.

Exceeds Expectations - 2005 Ford Taurus
By mppppm - May 19 - 8:36 pmBought used three years ago with 22,000 miles. Now has 96K + and Ive had no problems at all. It averages 27 mpg highway. I havent even done routine maintenance - just regular oil changes, a new battery and plugs ... and it keeps on going. I love this car!

By big_big_jon - March 19 - 1:53 pmI never really liked Fords but this Taurus is great the only way it could be better would be if it had the DOHC 24 valve. it gets great gas milage. Im gettig about 26 mpg which is better than I expected out of it. Ive had no major problems with it. I love the car.

TTU Fan - 2005 Ford Taurus
By drc1 - November 20 - 9:52 amI have just traded for an 05 Taurus. First one Ive had. Bought it used with 57,000 miles. Looks like all of the reviews are great. Looks like no one had any transmission problems. That always a concern when buying a used car. It rides great and getting 18mpg so far. Not too bad. Partly in town and out. Got a great trade in deal. Seems like the Taurus does have have a good trade in value. Bought it at the end of the month. Maybe that was the reason.

Cant beat the value - 2005 Ford Taurus
By DJ - June 22 - 9:24 pmComfy (leather & power) seats, really smooth ride, quiet and good overall handling. Good ABS brakes and fwd is great in snow. Great hwy mpg at 27-29 with a/c going and going 75 mph! I bought this car because I had a 2001 Taurus I liked - person who bought it still drives it daily to work, no problems. I bought the 2005 SEL used for $13k with only 23k miles and only 2 yrs old. Much better deal than any Honda or Toyota, and it will cost me less overall, and not rattle like those foreign cars when it has 100k + miles on it. Great quality and value in this car! I like that its a sleeper - no cops. Old, middle aged or young, rich or poor, people can all drive this car and look OK doing so.

Taurus Lover - 2005 Ford Taurus
By Thomas - October 29 - 1:02 pmVery clean, crisp corners on this Taurus. Previously owned a 1991 Taurus (Tortoise) as I called it. I love the look and feel of the Taurus. I will buy another but, I will keep this one for some time and enjoy it. Lots of room, very quiet. An all around great car for the money. I would recommend a Taurus to everyone. I wouldnt give this car up for a Camry or Avalon or whatever. I will stick with the Taurus. This is my Cadillac!
