Lower-line V6 models get standard 16-inch alloy wheels and a new hood while losing the fake side scoops. Premium models can be equipped with a Mach 1000 audio system. Both this system and the Mach 460 get speed-sensitive volume. Later this year, an MP3 player will be available. Performance Red paint is replaced with Torch Red.
- Strong V8 power with GT, fun to drive, appealing all-American style, good crash-test scores, ragtop option.
- Solid rear axle, excessive gingerbread detailing on GT, poor stereo ergonomics, flaccid seats.

By g8rtrance - April 12 - 12:30 pmI purchased the 02 V6 Mustang because my insurance went up due to the horrible crash history of my 2000 ZX2. I gained almost 50% more hp for about the same monthly payment and, because its a V6, my insurance only went up $40/yr. Niether one has a back seat, but now I have tons more leg room and a significantly better-driving vehicle.

My other friends with their Hondas, Acuras, and Toyotas only wish they could keep up. Plus with over 300 pounds of torque, you can burn the tires until the cows come home. You cant beat American Muscle.

By Dave412 - October 16 - 10:00 amIm 47 and just bought this car for some driving fun. It hasnt disappointed. The 5-speed shifts very smoothly. The engine growl is very pleasing from the inside cabin, even though it could be a bit louder from the outside dual exhaust. The Mach 1000 stereo is awesome. The ride even though stiff, doesnt bother me. I knew before buying the car that everything would not be perfect, but what is? In my opinion, the car rides great, sounds agressive enough, has plenty of power for my driving habits and is exciting to drive.

By william - August 23 - 10:00 amMy first car in 1979 was a 65 Mustang coupe my dad sold to the little old lady that I purchased it from new. I debated on whether or not to spend my money on vintage or new but not for long once I drove the new. This car is pure joy to drive around town and on the open road. Go 5 speed (I live in city and its no big deal.) Only use 1st occassionally, normally starting in second (try it).

By LinzsYellowStang - July 22 - 2:00 amOk, so I am poor and can only afford to pay insurance on a 6 cyl. but it was the best car I could have bought. After adding my cold air intake, dual exhaust, short throw shifter and new wheels, i easily made it in the 15s in the 1/4. Its a fun car to take out and road race, and I get alotta looks in the nice zinc yellow.
