  • Bargain Audi A4 - 2010 Ford Fusion

I recently decided to trade in my Mustang GT for something more practical and better able to handle Midwestern winters. I looked at the Subarus but they seemed chintzy and kinda ugly (have you seen the new Legacy?), and Hondas (no AWD except for their SUVs). The Fusions AWD is a rarity in this class and along with the big V-6 and iPod integration I couldnt find anything better out there. I have been extremely pleased with the Fusion so far and it has handled Chicago snow without any problem. I hope it continues to impress!

  • Made >50% overseas, & watch your head. - 2010 Ford Fusion

This is a flawed car for Americans: 1) More than 50% of the car is made or assembled in Mexico (the engines), and Japan (the transmisions). After adjusting the front power seat for myself, Im 58", I noticed there is no seat memory as in my wife and myself: this is not a big deal as it uses the cars main computer and would only involve one switch and about 4 of wire. The last nasty surprise is, after setting the seat for myself, I did something I always do at this point: I got in the back seat, and I smacked my head twice (I ducked after the 2nd time, and still hit my head). This isnt exactly rocket science, I dont know how Ford, a company I like, let this one out like this.

  • Another winner from Ford - 2010 Ford Fusion

Test-drove several brands but chose Fusion as best of breed, excellent buy for price. Good power altho gearing is too widely spaced. Accelerator and brakes are sensitive & take some getting used to, to avoid jerky starts/stops. Very quiet ride, some tire noise on certain surfaces.

  • Disapointed with Ford transmission again - 2010 Ford Fusion

The ride is firm but comfortable, steering is taut without being overly so, vehicle corners well and the interior is a class act, but unfortunately all this is marred by a transmisson that takes all the joy out of the driving experience. I purchased a demo w/16000 miles on odo. Clearly I didnt take the vehicle for a long enough test drive. When going down hill or coasting to a stop when speed drops to about 40 the transmission down shifts & slows the vehicle so quickly you end up having to give it more gas. This vehicle is supposed to have a CVT transmission which is supposed to shift smoothly. Well apparently no one at Ford got that memo. This is my third and last Ford.

  • Good Midsize Value - 2010 Ford Fusion

Bought the Fusion Sport to replace an 09 Jetta with a manual transmission due to traffic in the DC area. Price with rebates is very attractive. Fit and finish seem good but it is too soon to really tell. V-6 provides smooth acceleration and 6 speed automatic is a joy to drive. Car is sportier than the Camry; costs less than a similar Accord and handles better. A solid choice for a person who needs a family sedan but wants something that is sporty but doesnt require premium unleaded.

  • Watch out - 2010 Ford Fusion

Ive had my Ford Fusion for 9 months and I now have a recall on the solenoid. Soon after the notice I began to have severe problems with the transmission. I took it in and now the entire transmission has to be replaced. Im not pleased that a new car has major transmission problems. I bought it based on a review from edmunds so I hope others read my review. Perhaps its a fluke but now Ive had a smokey rental car for a week which I had to ask for rather than have it offered. Now Im wondering if should have bought a Honda like last time.

  • Too soon to tell, but so far so good - 2010 Ford Fusion

Purchased this car in the nick of time for my trip tp Stowe, VT. The trunk was adequate for myself and my fiance and her penchant for bringing the kitchen sink. The car is attractive and sporty, yet it has a very European feel and appearance. The engine is responsive and quick. The interior is comforatable and stylish, but some of the weather stripping and trim bezels could be better-attached. Minor issues at worst. The SYNC system is great, but the voice which assists could benefit from some lessons in listening as she is often enough wrong. Also, there is too much instruction offered by the voice. Overall, the car has handled the Vermont mountains well with no issues.

  • Coming Up on 10K - 2010 Ford Fusion

About 50 miles south of 10K and this car has been flawless. Build quality is rock solid with excellent fit and finish. Plenty of power, quiet & comfortable cabin, extremely smooth transmission; excellent cabin space and a huge trunk. Only option I added was the Moon & Tunes package. Killer stereo which could be even better if it had actual subwoofers. Didnt like the blue or red interior accents, stuck with the black. Averaging a shade over 21 mpg in 50/50 mixed driving with the occasional aggressive launch/pass. I have no problem recommending this car to anyone in the market for a midsized sedan with a little pizazz.

  • American Convert - 2010 Ford Fusion

I never thought Ford or any American Auto Maker would be on par with a European or Japanese Maker. I got the spirited 3.5L sport engine to the detriment of fuel efficiency. I do not regret it, the car is fun to drive and rock solid. The fit and finish inside and out is very good. The center console is button happy, plastic surfaces look good except for the glove box. Do not care much for the tiptronic transmission. Sync system geared towards native English speakers. I have to anglicize too many Spanish names when searching. The outside is muscular, at times the cars seems to begs for speed. A bit much chrome on the front grill. Good suspension. It takes road abrasions with aplomb.

  • Throttle Control-2010 Ford Fusion - 2010 Ford Fusion

I Purchase my Ford Fusion the last week of August. The 2nd week of Sept, 800 miles later. The wrench sign lights up and the vehicle will not drive over 20mph. I stop the vehicle for 5 mintues. Everything starts up fine, and a few minutes later the wrench lights up again and the car will go only 10 mph. I take it to Ford with the check engine light on and the wrench light on. The Dealer replaces the Throttle Body Assembly. I pick up the vehicle and the next day the same thing happens again. I take it back and they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle, they even drove it for 30 miles. So I go pick up the vehicle today and before I get home(4 miles away), the wrench light comes on.
