Be prepared for repairs - 2010 Ford Fusion
By Jason Lee - October 1 - 10:02 pmI purchased my Ford Fusion 2010 after reading the great reviews from Edmunds. After 5 years, Ive already had to deal with 3 repairs (replace engine fan, faulty belt tensioner, driver side door broken). The car has never been in an accident, driven 100% in Northern California where the weather is great (never falls below freezing) and garage kept overnight. I am extremely disappointed that the car has had these issues and its only been 5 years where as my 10 year old Mazda 3 has still yet to have any repairs.

Never buy a Ford - 2010 Ford Fusion
By momstractors - October 22 - 7:41 pmBought the 2010 Fusion new, pile of junk, 3 door switches replaced along with Chinese lug nuts and emblem that was delaminating. Rear brake caliper locked up, covered under warranty, its locked up again but not covered under the 60,000 drive train warranty. I would think that brakes are an important part of the drivetrain. The brakes are not a new problem, they have plagued Ford on these cars for the last 10 years. The car rides like a lumber wagon, motor idles rough and trunk seal fell off. Car has been on the road for 3 1/2 years, 40,000 miles and I guess I can look forward to the throttle body going.

Transmission problems! - 2010 Ford Fusion
By daveglo - November 13 - 9:39 pmBuyers beware! This model year of Ford Fusion has had many, many transmission problems, and I can not recommend this vehicle. Im a lifelong Ford owner, and would normally stand up for them, but this machine has been extremely disappointing. The dealership has done the repairs as recommended by Ford, but its never going to be enough until they re-design the transmission. The transmission started slipping before 20K miles, and would slip bad enough to drop a gear when accelerating at highway speed. It completely disengaged once while at normal highway speeds, and had to coast to the shoulder and "re-boot" the car (its all electronic controls) to get it back to shop. Do not buy!
