We researched several different manufacturers and ended up going to the local car show. It was there that my wife drove and liked the car. When we got serious about the purchase of a new vehicle, a month later, we knew that was what we wanted. While we have less than 500 miles on it we constantly talk about all the features it has for the price. The only thing we had to adjust to is the rear window visibility being less than our other car, especially with the spoiler.

  • Great Car for a 19 yr old - 2006 Ford Fusion

I was lucky enough to have my parents buy this car for me to replace a vehicle that I actually out grew! I am 6 foot five. I find this vehicle to be very comfortable for my long body. I love the style of this car so much. People often think I am driving a Caddy. I dont get exceptional gas mileage, only averaging close to 25-26 mph, but that is driving back and forth to college going over a lot of hills and mountains. So it probably isnt too bad. I think i have a pretty amazing ride for only being 19 years old. Buy the slush mats, they are like 90 bucks but they keep your carpet protected!

Have had my Fusion for 3.5 years and only problem was a safety interlock system gone haywire fixed under warranty. I got it with every option they offer. . Get mid 20s around town and sometimes over 30 mph on highway driving under 65 mph. People who ride with me comment about how nice its appointed and how smooth it rides.

First car Ive owned, 25 years of trucks. 60 mile commute 5-6 days a week this was the best thing I could have done. 74000 miles, oil changes not often enough, 1 air filter, tires at 55000. Holds 4 sets of golf clubs in the trunk 4 of my buddies and will still allow me to pass anything driving the speed limit. Absolutly no complaints. At 100k will give this to my kid then buy another.

Recently purchased the 06 Ford Fusion SEL V6 6-speed and im impressed with the interior and the exterior is so-so. I plan to add ground effects and replace the grille to an aftermarket "net-looking" grille. Has power and handling is great. Bought it with 46k miles and hope to get another 46k without a major repair. Not as responsive as I would like. I went to pass a truck on the interstate and it took 3 seconds or more for the car to downshift and pickup, but when it did it passed the truck without any problems. Ive heard great things about the reliability of the fusions and that is what my rating is based on. After 25k+ miles I will update the post with hopefully good things.

  • Great Car / Bad Fuel Milage - 2006 Ford Fusion
    By -

Really like the car, the way it looks feels and responds. Just dont like the fuel mileage, we are only receiving around 14-16 mpg on the hwy and 10-12 in the city. Really disappointed in the projected fuel economy for this car because it is such a nice car to drive. I feel we will run the lease out and get something better on fuel mileage next term.

I have had my Fusion now for 3 1/3 years. The blinkers lights are always going out. Last year the the AC went out right in the middle of the Texas Summer. Some sensor was out, was still covered under the warranty so didnt cost anything. A year later (the next summer) my check engine light comes on. Yes, I take car in for its regular checkup always. Anyway the car starts to putter act like it doesnt want to go when I hit the gas. I opted to buy the extended warranty. Turns out the fuse coil is burned up and seems to have short someplace, still in shop. Not at all happy. Suppose be fairly new car to have these problems. May not be covered under the extended warranty.

Really a great car and Ford should do well with it. Very quiet and smooth running vehicle. Easy to get in and out. Very comfortable seats. The audio system is awesome and the climate control system is great. Really a well thought out car and my wife and I love it. There is a little annoying rattle and my dealer has promised to fix that.

How quiet of ride for front wheel drive, roomy insides, the underside with a full belly cover under the engine, and a vent going to the alternator in the back of engine to keep it cool.150,000 mile tune up, no timing belt. The head lights at night are very good design for road coverage.

  • Excellent Car - 2006 Ford Fusion

We just bought this new 06 and also have a 2000 Expedition. The gas mileage is awesome (and quite a step up from the Expedition) for a higher performance V6 (29 highway) and it moves well when you gas it. Its very comfortable, very fun to drive, and is very responsive. It also has a nice curb appeal. I would recommend! 2 Thumbs up.
