  • Just a Great Little Car - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

We bought this car mainly as a commuter, but found out its also a great road car. Handling, quiet & comfortable says it all. Only had for 4 months, but all indications including reliability look very good. Saved a bundle compared to competition. Very good ergonomics, easy new car to get used to. I think mileage will improve with age. We drive a very (25 mile) winding and twisty road to work and back, and trust me, this car is the one you want to be in. ABS, and side air bags were a must, as should be in all vehicles. We love our Outback & minivan, but this one is really a hoot to drive. If youre a DRIVER, and love to DRIVE check it out. Oh, and you will smile all the way to the BANK!

  • Kudos for Ford - 2006 Ford Focus

Being thrifty and practical, I researched extensively before buying. The Focus wagon is what I was looking for, and I have been greatly pleased. Averaging 34 mpg (should be 40 in my opinion), lots of cargo space, good comfort features, more power doodads than I care for, comfy seat. I replaced a Corolla wagon with it. While not a Corolla, its a very good car. I like the ride - suspension carries me across unpaved roads, construction sites, etc. without jarring. Ive done high-speed highway driving with passengers as well. No real complaints, but good praise.

  • A bigger car for me - 2006 Ford Focus

I switched up to the Focus from a subcompact. Ive only got about 1400 miles on it so far, but I really like it. Its fun to drive, comfortable and gets decent gas mileage (most of my driving is city driving). Its also the first brand new car Ive ever bought, so I did a lot of research before buying. It handles well and no longer feels like a boat compared to the old car! Im still very happy that I went with the Focus instead of some of the others I looked at.

  • $12000? Cant go wrong - 2006 Ford Focus

After 6 months any new car is just "a car". This one does everything you need, especially at $3 a gallon. Im 62" and fit in it great. The air is cold, stereo is fine and $250/month with $500 down is great. I wanted a Charger RT but my payment would have been $600/month. You figure it out!

  • Not for tall people - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

I have owned this car for 5 days now and I have been trying to figure out how to get rid of it. Dont get me wrong, its a fun little car if you are under 6 feet tall. I have experienced terrible back and leg pain from the drivers seat. I am 63" tall and go to the gym at least 3 times a week and in great shape. On the test drive and for a couple of days the car was fine then uncomfortable every other trip. Then had to drive 30 miles to and back from somewhere is when the excruciating pain began. This morning was a 5 mile trip to work and not less than 50 feet out of the driveway was when the pain began again. Please be very weary of this vehicle if you are tall!

  • No Mo Fo Mo Co - 2006 Ford Focus

My wife drove this car home from the dealership. By the time she got home, it had 11 miles on it. The trunk would not latch (returned it for service). Week 2, the driver side door would not close. Month 2, the remote stopped unlocking the doors. Month 3, the trunk flew open while we were driving with our dog in the back. We keep the doors shut with tie downs. The car is 6 months old, 5,000 miles and right now its stuck in my driveway and I am missing work (again). This is our 13th Ford over 20 years and unless Ford takes it back at their expense, we will be switching to one of the other big 3.

  • Very Impressed! Really like it! - 2006 Ford Focus

I have had this car two days, and Im so impressed. It has solid power through all gears, good exhaust tone, and has a great overall feel. Filled up after burning a 1/4 tank just to see what my mpg was, and was impressed with 26 mpg for city driving. Seats have good side bolster, trunk is quite big for car. Wish the cup holders were arranged differently, but dont let that discourage you from buying. You can get a fully loaded Focus ST, way cheaper than a loaded Civic. I have caught a lot of heck for getting a Focus, but after most people see the car they are quite impressed, and say "not bad"

I have several types of vehicles in the past, but have found the Ford Focus 2006 is the best I have owed so far.

  • Focus delivers the goods where it counts - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

I wanted a car with 4 cylinders and a 5-speed to replace my aging 6-cylinder auto 99 Jetta. Jetta still beautiful and a joy to drive, but neither very economical nor particularly reliable. Always liked styling of the Focus, so I thought I would try it, after 25 years of VWs. Dont know what all the carping about build quality is about. Paint is deep and lustrous, body panels fit, feels tight and solid on the road - no rattles or squeaks. Interior not as pretty as Jetta, but is functional, sturdy and comfortable. Engine torquey with smooth power delivery. Focus weighs 500 lbs less than Jetta, so power deficit not a big deal. Moreover, car has been very reliable - old Foci Ive seen hold up well.

  • Broken after only 3800 miles - 2006 Ford Focus
    By -

I have enjoyed driving my car and it gets really good fuel mileage, but I went to get the windows tinted and the auto man showed me where there were screws missing from the doors. Then after owning the car for 3.5 months the starter goes bad, which dealer did fix.
