  • most comfortable car for the money - 2006 Ford Focus

I started out looking at the Fit and the Yaris, but after rebates and a little price negotiation, I just couldnt pass up the Focus. Sure it might have a lower trade in value, but I also paid a lot less than a comparably equipped import, and the Focus has more options making it more comfortable to drive while I own it. Focus also has a longer power train warranty that is transferable. I was looking at entry level cars, and for the price I dont think the Focus can be beat. Nothing else has as many comfort and convenience features for less than $14,000. Plus I got the dealership to throw in window tint. )

  • Worst new car I ever bought - 2006 Ford Focus

Six Flags on the road - thats the way this sloppy manufactured car rides. Suspension must be made of marshmallows. A pot hole in the way? just hit it - and sends you somewhere you would never anticipate beforehand ... I would even say: dangerous to drive!

  • very nice affordable car - 2006 Ford Focus

After extensively shopping even the Mazda 3 and Mini, Im very glad to have "moved down" into my ST. Very responsive and fun to drive for a car that costs thousands less than even the Chevy Cobalt. Well built (so far) with few downsides. Could use more 12v plugs (has just one) and the cup holders are for use in desperation only (good luck getting a jumbo drink to stay in place), but it is after all a small car. The trunk is HUGE and quite functional and the top end trim package (leather, sunroof and traction control) round it out well. Overall Im very happy with it.

Works for my family. Fills any hauling needs except for extra large stuff. Fuel economy is excellent. Fun to drive with good performance. Great price.

  • Everything great so far except ... - 2006 Ford Focus

Fuel Economy - PUTRID! Supposed to get 26 mpg city driving and so far only getting 18, if Im lucky. True, only have 800 miles on the car so far and the engine break in period is not over and I do have a heavy foot and it has been freezing here in New York but Im getting about 170-180 miles for 11.5-12 gallons (city driving). Dont think it should be that bad. Ill see how it is after 2000 miles.

  • Focus st - 2006 Ford Focus

As an engineer I try to select based on quality and price. I researched and drove a lot of cars before deciding on the Focus ST. Power to spare and handles like a sports car. 30+ mpg even with the more powerful engine. If this came as a two door coupe it would be a perfect car.

  • First American car in 22 years - 2006 Ford Focus

I have owned and driven Toyotas for the last 22 years and experienced good value and quality. This Ford product is an outstanding value. The drive and feel are exceptional. Gas mileage is above average. I love the styling of the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The styling moved me to Ford along with the fair acquisition cost.

  • Focus is practical and fun - 2006 Ford Focus

I drive mostly highway miles, so I wanted something that was responsive and comfortable with good gas mileage. I got it with the Focus. No problem driving to and from work. My Focus is equipped with the safety package (ABS & side airbags), as well as traction control. I also have a six CD stereo, which has a great sound. Its tough to find a car with all that for around $15,000 after the cash-back offers. I recommend this car.

  • Great deal ... inexpensive and economical - 2006 Ford Focus

What a surprise to drive the replacement for the Escort, and find it to be such a fun car. Nothing like the Escort. I bought the 5 speed, and it has every imaginable option ... some which I havent figured out what to do with as yet. Incredible gas mileage, plenty of looks, an unbelievable warranty, shifts as smooth as anything I have every driven, and for its size, very quiet. No, I am not a Ford salesman, I am a cop who rides the big Crown Vic, and was absolutely astonished at how nice this car is. The Japanese have nothing close to this car, when you factor price, gas mileage, comfort and basic warranty. Enjoy this neat car!

  • Great Value in the Compact Class - 2006 Ford Focus

I have had a lot of fun driving this car. The handling and ride of this car rival my wifes Honda Accord (no kidding). I test drove the new Honda Civic, new Toyota Corolla, and a new Suzuki Forenza. The Focus had the most headroom, the most comfortable seats, and the best road manners. The interior is well laid out with all of the controls within easy reach. On the highway the engine noise is quieter than expected. The engine doesnt sound too hurried even at speeds around 70 mph. The car tracks straight and is very responsive to steering input with the short wheelbase. Braking feels solid, even with drum brakes in the rear. I am getting just over 27 mpg with mixed city/highway driving.
